Some of you wonder what I mean when I compare a 2000 rms amp to a 3000 rms amp. I should have elaborated more in my video. So sorry about that. I have learned a lot since this video. And I go into more detail in my video's now! But back to the comparison. What I meant. Was that the sound quality of one amp vs the other! I knew the Taramps would be more powerful. But when tuning a amp at a moderate volume level. I listen to the difference in the sound the sub is putting out hook to different amps. I set the amps at same voltage! Or atleast I try to. Lol🤣 So please forgive me if I didn't say the correct question. Like I said I have gotten a lot better. I also pay for a video editor now! My video's are way better!So plz subscribe! I have a rp2000.1d and the sq from it isn't the best but i does make that number... she does get hot too.. my personal idea of sound wood b the mmats 1400.1dhc. The sound from him is great. So warm sounding. never gets hot. I had to repair my rp2000.1d. Twice... lol

Did you have to change ur alternator prior to adding that amp or did you already have a high powe alternator installed?

I did. But not when. I first got it It would go into protect a lot from dropping voltage. Got tired of that. So I got a JS 250 amp alternator and 40 ah limitless lithium. Now no problems 1👍😁💯💨💨💨

Taramps is wayyy better than Skar. Not only are they smaller, but the price to performance is insane. Taramps goes by the real RMS wattage, and not the BS peak wattage. I run a single Skar ZVX-8 on a Taramps Bass 800, all on 1-ohm. For a single 8, that thing will thump! It flexes my roof and doors. I've never seen a single 8 inch do that until I used it on a Taramps. Skar makes good subs and prefab boxes, but their amps are mehhh. There are way better amps out there for cheaper, and this is definitely one of them.

Just installed a 1200 watt tramp on two 15-in Rockford Fosgate completely amazed how small this amp is and the power it puts out the efficiency is very good also

I just did about the same thing. I went from a RP 2000.1D to a Recoil Dii3300.1D. I'm using a single Duall 2 Ohm 12" VXF in a custom tuned @ 29hz 1.8 cu ft box. It slaps pretty hard. Amazed I haven't fried the VXF as it's rated for 1500 RMS.

Just upgraded from an rp2000.1 to a taramps smart 3 , clarity , and sound quality is way better , and the smart 3 seems to be much more efficient as far as voltage drop goes

@AdamHonn The Smart 3 definitely has more power. But the Skar rp 2000 still sounded good and had enough power for most ppl. But if you wanting to flex I'd go with the Smart 3 or if you like skar try the rp 4500👍😎💯💨💨💨

They now have a taramps model just came out this month called the big boss 3k 5k. 8k the big boss 3k is 339 bux and is stable from . 5 to whatever high u wanna go but a . 5 this 3k rated amp 8k on bursts of power and like 5500 RMS at 1 ohm 6500 at . 5 RMS power these specific amps are supposed to be made from higher grade parts inside.

About 6 different Taramps amplifiers. All have did good. They will go into protect if you don't your electric is up to par. But yeah I do love a good Korean amplifier 👍💯😁

I had a bad experience with the smart 3. I had borh fans stop working and it would cut off at high volume. Had it fed with 0 gauge wire and proper electrical. Gain was at a quarter no bass boost. Switched it out for a audiopipe 3k and no more problems. Think I got a defective one.

My first Smart 3 a fan blade broke. So I sold it. The new one I just got is getting very loud when it turns on. Think its the fans on mine as well. They make good power but there mass produced and cheaply. Only bad thing.🤔💯

I use a $75 walmart JVC head unit it's all u need if u set it up right but I like this pioneer it's worth the few extra bux for all the extra features if u know how to use them. I have the high & low pass knobs all the way off, gain about a third the way up, then set my head unit low pass at 70hz, no bass boost everything at 0 for my 2 Sundown U Series 15s and it's money.

I like the skars just because of sound quality. A skar rp3500.1 would be what you want for a cleaner sound but some ppl like punchier bass over sound quality, it's apples and oranges on what you prefer sound wise. I just wonder if the Bass 3k would sound more like a Skar 3500...🤔

Your right! And I do like Skar. I like the Smart 3 to. But I do plan on changing to a better built amp. Either the one you said Skar rp 3500 or sk 3500. Or Audio Legion 3500. I want the Audio Legion so it can match my other amp. But I'll try any amp. But won't be changing any of them until after I get my wall done. And that alternator and big 3 done. And lithium or amg batteries. Those things are next . Then I'll have the power to run better amps👍💯

@@bassjunkie2020 yes, both of those amps have more potential especially the skar with a big 3 and extra battery. That smart 3 will pull close to 300 amps and both have the potential to smoke if they're pulled under 10v. I would do the big 3 asap even if you don't have the extra cash for batteries. Once the power upgrades are done I'd give that skar another chance. I've seen those rp2000s burst 3000 and hold 2500 steady. I like the smart 3 too but have a feeling you'll be going back to the skar soon.

I had a Pioneer 9601, 1200rms at 1ohm. Then I switched over the the taramps hd3k and damn what a difference. My 1200rms soundqubed 10" is loving the extra power

@@stanlyipkiss8303 Keep in mind that I wasn't pushing the smart 3 at full 3k watts. I tuned it so the sub was getting around 1500rms. Had I blasted the volume and taramps the 3k would have blown the sub.

All bs aside that setup is comparable to my 3 evl 12s on a hd3000 taramps. They pull alot of amperage but this hd3k don’t seem to mind the abuse so far. Im wired to 1.3ohm and box tuned to 32hz.

Is the charging system upgraded in that car? (battery/batteries, alternator, big 3) If stock charging system, that could have something to do with it. Anything more than (around) 1,500 watts RMS, it's needed.

@@Vr30Boostlyfe yes its a good amp The only thing I don't like about the smart series is they have a protect mode that if you go below 11 volts or something like that or over 16 volts they will shut off and come back on. Which is good to save your equipment. But during a demo and your trying to send it. It's the last thing you want. But if your just wanting to have a banging system to cruise around I recommend them 💨💨💨👊💯😎

And just as a public service announcement the STINGER brand wire gage reducer terminals fit perfect in these amps I went thru 3 sets before buying ones that would fit. The Stingers are by far the best quality out of the 3 tho

I bet your Pioneer radio has low voltage on the RCA's and that's why you have to turn that up to increase the voltage to the amp that why it gets a stronger signal from the head unit. You can find tests of that on KZbin as well Pioneers evidently are bad for low voltage on RCA

He's right about the build quality there's nothing to these things the bottom plate is paper thin. But that's what keeps them cheap so as long as you understand & can live with the trade off these are awesome lil amps but because they're so fragile & sensitive I wouldn't necessarily recommend these amps or prob any brazilian amp to beginners if you're just starting out jus get a Korean amp til u get ur feet wet they stand up to abuse (and errors) much better. Matter of fact I had the same issue with the knobs on my smart 3. They all worked just fine no static or cutting out but they were all out of whack just like that.

Turning the sub out up isn't like bass boost.. The more you turn it up, the higher the preout voltage is.. +10 is the full rated preout voltage (I think you said your HU has 4v preouts, that's at +10)

The Smart 3 is a good amp! I've never heard wolfram. But have heard a lot of builds that had them. They sounded good. But the Smart 3 is good to help fight box rise. Because it does 3k @ 1ohm's and also @ 2ohm's. Just do more research and ask other's before you make a decision. 👊😁💯💨💨💨

He's right about the stickers. Just asking for trouble. I always liked flying under the radar because my system was just so ridiculous. If you want to make it sound really good buy yourself an active crossover. I already know your amp has a "built in crossover so you don't need it" but you need it if you want to separate yourself from the kids. I ran a kicker 3xi active crossover and it was the best hundred and forty dollars I ever spent on car audio. You won't believe the difference

@Eric Fussner yeah a equalizer definitely makes a big difference or a DSP I suggest get familiar with your system first use the amp settings to make sure you're not clipping and then once you know your head unit and your amplifier well then out of equalizer or DSP to clean it up this is an older video and I've learned a lot since then and I appreciate all your guys's feedback👊😎💯

Different power but the difference is. One is a full bridge the other is half bridge. So you will get vocals from the full. From your subs. I've learned a lot since I made this video. More rms does not mean more sound quality. Lol whoever told you that is wrong. Maybe more output. But at same volume and gains both set the same. The smart 3 sounds like it's better. But if you listen close. You can hear vocals. So the Skar is better. Far as louder. For sure the Smart 3

Prv 3500x at 12v $297 basically soundigatal but burget price it gets down I'm on nickle batts 13 volt ish range miss highs the prv800.4 lil highertara but the build quality shows tara's good but $360 3500 skarr would been better fight off it's $100 more than the smart 3 at $250

Them tara pack a punch but hard beet a karean amp circuit for low deep quality you can see the difference insmd meter when u start the signal the wattage should count up nice slow the more consistent it is the better quality the cercuit build shows I think it's the amount of cerciutry that does this korean quality amps are packed so they easily can make huge clean power cool with all the guts the brazilian amps use verry high voltage quickly amplafing the signal more rapidly I think this builds more heat and has less filtration causing sound quality loss kinda reminds me of nitros vrs a turbo the way a nitros motor will make big power but real vilant instant versace a turbo like rubber band pulled tight just keep pulling nice strong all he way out the back but it's afficentcy. Shows in consentantcy nice build good flex for 10"

Your right it is. But you can still put both in . Cause both internally are ins I was told. I have older videos explaining that the top is input and the bottom is out. I had a Smart 3 before and sold it. I only used 1 rca back then. But I was told you could still use both as in if you was sending signals to another amp. But your right👍💯

@@familyman8644 The smart series amps automatically limit the current, so they are much more reliable than the rest of the taramps family. Don't get me wrong, I love a good Korean half bridge too, but these Taramps Smart 3 and now the Smart 5k are the best Taramps has ever made in my opinion

But for the Smart 3 I use the settings on my pioneer head unit to set the range better. So that help's a lot. Without that head unit it wouldn't have the best SQ. It's probably because you're dropping below 11 voltage most likely it's probably a voltage problem they have a protect mode that keeps it with a voltage low it shuts it off that's one reason I didn't like the smart series

Yeah set voltage on the amp with multimeter to 54.7 that is 3k if clip light comes on turn it bacj a bit. You can actually set the gain by playing a 40 hz test tone and have your head unit up to where you would listen to it at. Turn gain up till you see clip light then turn it back a hair. It will be set to clipping and you will get the most out of the amp

If you go with a certain pair the input side of the reducers with the 4awg, the input is on one side of the terminal so if you flip it upsidedown it pushes away from the ground and remote giving you enough room. Other than the 2nd fan is there any difference between the smart 3 and a regular taramp HD 3000 ????? I'm finally pulling my rp 2k out this week and swapping it for the taramp. I had a set back due to the so called 0 gauge inputs so I purchased the 1/0 adapters and found out the hard way that I had to use a 1/0 to 4 gauge reducer.

The Smart 3 has 0g inputs. Also does 3k @ 1 and 2ohms! Plus the fans! But power wise. I think the hd might be putting out more @ 1 ohm! The hds have 200 volt caps! Smart 3 only 160 volt caps!👍😎💯

My money is on the smart 3 always putting out more power after impedance rise when wired to 1 ohm. You are probably going to be playing in the 2-4 ohm range after rise, or more. If that's the case, the smart 3 should almost always give you more power than a bass 3k

I don't use the eq i use the output frequency rate. I can control the frequency cut off rate. Like on your amp low pass and high pass. Only I can do that from my head unit also. And I can tune my low pass lower from it to 63 hz if I want same for mids and highs. I have them at 150hz. But that's only if your head unit has that feature. Most don't. If not only use the amp to set your eq. Don't use the radio. It will clip!👍💯

I just got a Smart 3 ordered to Australia. I can't believe I paid $350aud for first my pioneer 800w amp. Which only does rated at 14.5v or otherwise it limits itself. I paid $450aud for taramps 3k, I have to rockford subs wired to 1ohm and they are rated only 400rms each. Im thinking I'll rewire to 4ohm load to get max efficiency from amp. I'll probably run around 1000 watts :) great video

Because the voltage started dropping. When it goes below the recommend voltage it's probably clipping

@@bassjunkie2020 that amp operates at like 9 to 16 volts but yeah the lower the voltage drops below 12.6 u will def be clipping that amp makes rated 12.6 volts so don't let that freak you out the amp is perfectly safe in the 12 volt range making plenty of power but something that power that can rip out 300 amps needs a great power reserve and supply.

The smart 3 is full range and the low pass only goes down to 90. But I fixed that by installing a Pioneer head unit that lets my control the frequency cut off rate. So I got it set at 63hz. Which solves the problem of vocals in the subs. But other then that not much difference. The Korean boards are definitely built way better and will last a lot longer for sure. Plus like my audio legion the low pass goes down to 40hz. So far as sq not much difference. But build quality Korean board is the 🏆 winner👍😎💯

Hey bro I have as I single zvx 15 at 1 ohm on a Rp2k and it does sound amazing and I just bought the smart 3k today how did u tune yours ..did u just play a 40 hertz tone at your desired full tilt volume til the clip light came on and I have a pioneer hu as well I got the nex 2500 and I have my lpf on 80 now on deck and off on my rp2k but when I hook up the smart 3 shld I put lpf at 63. That should be enough. But hook multimeter to positive and negative power and grounds in @ amplifier. Put it on 12v dc battery. Then play your system at loudest level you generally play it at. Watch voltage. If dropping below 12 volts. Get another battery. Until it don't drop. Or save and buy a good lithium. I recommend limitless lithium batteries 👍💯

I liked it! Was a great amp for my 2 10s I used to run! I've had a couple Smart 3s! Never had a problem out of them. They don't like low voltage though! Anything under 11 volts. Will send it into protect. But will come out of it soon as the voltage goes back up 👍😉💯💨💨

I loved them. I still have 2 10s and 2 15s xfls. They just need reconed. But they slam. They like 32 to 37 hz. I've had the 10s down to 19hz! I have 2 Sundown Xv2 15"s atm in my car on Taramps md 8k. Which they play 28 to 33 hz the best. Far as Skar vfxs. I've never owned any. I've had the ddxs. Anyway I've heard a few set up with the vfxs and they hit hard👍😁💯

Use subbox.pro to build your box. It does most calculation for you. Just put in sub size and box dimensions. And it lets you put port area. You probably want 26 port area or bigger. Alteast a 2 inch wide or 3 slot port. My box for 2 xfl 10s is 4 inch wide tuned to 32hz and port area is 46 on mine

Ok but all you have to do is wire all negative together from sub to sub then all positive together sub to sub. Then those 2 wires to positive to negative on the amp. Doesn't matter that there direct leads. Who ever told you that is wrong👍

And do you have the 1022 or 1044’s. I have the 1222 but I think if I run them together it would drop down to like 0.5ohms
