Hey what would ubsay is the very max wattage u would get out of the smart 3k in car
@ellensburgamplifier
@ellensburgamplifier 10 ай бұрын
This is something you may want to look to see if Derek (BigD) has a dyno video on. I don't dyno here so I don't know what the output wattage is up to failure (peak MAX). We don't have schematics for the Smart line of amplifiers for me to know what the peak rail voltage is. If I remember right the numbers are shy of 5k for the peak output? I can be completely wrong on that.

Hi, I still haven't managed to repair the taramps bass 1200 I bought the real transistors. im wondering what do I have to look for In the power supply area there's a short on both I took the power rectifiers out and the short is still there. the power rectifiers. I tested them and there are good
@ellensburgamplifier
@ellensburgamplifier Жыл бұрын
If there is a short across the positive and negative terminals then either the transistor(s) are shorted, solder bridge, shorted capacitor, or solder bridge.
@leoyser1369
@leoyser1369 Жыл бұрын
i followed it to the bigger inductor there's one of the leg of the inductor with burnt carbon from the pcb can that been the problem or it's something else really not sure I check the capacitors and resistors

@@leoyser1369 What is the resistance value between the gate and source of the power supply transistors? Carbon is conductive but would show a relatively high resistance value.

is this amp worth the money paid?what is better to choose the same power output on korean plate or this smart 3 one?
@ellensburgamplifier
@ellensburgamplifier 2 жыл бұрын
That is a tough call as we are comparing apples to oranges. I will try to help divide these. The Korean style boards are versatile, bottom line. The Brazilian boards are not as versatile and can be picky. The Korean boards have a LOT more thermal mass. The Brazilian boards have a LOT more power in a much smaller footprint (fans are critical). The Smart3 and 5 are fantastic amps if you support them properly at their rated load. The Korean boards can hold up to lower loads under the rated when supported. I would never wire a Brazilian board under the rated load.

I have a smart three and just found out the negative side of the speaker terminal block is loose causing the bass to cut out intermittently. Is there anyway to tighten that?
@ellensburgamplifier
@ellensburgamplifier 5 ай бұрын
The terminal is broken at the board. These blocks are soldered in place and if the terminal itself can move around then it needs to be replaced. I would discontinue the use of the amplifier as this will short the output section and then you are looking at doubling the repair bill.

@@ellensburgamplifier it seems my FETs aren’t the problem, they each test good after pulling the same bank you had a problem with, except my outer 2pads on each are still reading 8&1 Ω, so I’m assuming my gate drive IC is toast, the UCCxxxx, you said you also usually replace the 2957 and associated zeners as well? Which Zener exactly? Thanks so much, awesome vid and really appreciate the thoroughness of your repairs and explanations, and the help as well :)
@ellensburgamplifier
@ellensburgamplifier 2 жыл бұрын
@@Tekjive Yes, you may find the short to be with the UCC27511. I would double-check all the transistors as it usually takes a shorted transistor to damage the gate drive ICs. Or you can just have a failed IRS20957. I would pull the IC first if you have no shorted transistors.
@ellensburgamplifier

@@Tekjive I forgot to mention the Zener diodes. They are 15 volt Zener diodes (blue band) which you will find at the 20957 and the output transistors.
