Kiefer's art reminds me of Andrey Tarkovsky's film Stalker.

People don't seem to realize that where and how we first grow up heavily affects our aesthetic sense. I grew up in both a dangerous and industrial working-class area of Southern California that was filled with Latinos. Even til this day, I always feel deeply at peace in such areas versus what I perceive to be the clinically "clean" shopping centers that more middle-class white neighborhoods and cities have.
@chompers11 Жыл бұрын
Of course, white middle class people are far more dangerous than the working class.

As a millionaire you can do whatever you want..that is NOT to blame,but it IS a guestion about why amongst the millions of artists these few are chosen...and it comes down to the same thinking that we all people want on this planet. Easy life,money..etc. Become ACCEPTED in art world..after that you can do no wrong. In music it is something else..in music you HAVE to be on the edge and talented all the time..

Matahari Agent I was striked by the dimensions of his works, not only by the physical but also by the amount of people involved in the process of making them.

I am happy when I see those German geniuses smoking tobacco. I am a native of South America, from where we have smoked and exhaled the smoke of our "tabaquito", conjuring the insecurities of the world

With his wealth he can buy all these big spaces and do his installations , any artist can do these things if there is big money in his bank .... where does his wealth come from in order for him to under take all these projects ?
@Sandemose7 жыл бұрын
His art sells for alot of money?
@Sandemose7 жыл бұрын
Who cares if someone can do these things, when they obviously don´t do it. Because, if they could, they would, for who wouldnt want to be in Anselms positon as an artist? An independent genius.

The guy comes off as quite a jerk. Until other artists his art all comes from the same place, dry cracked earth. There are a lot of variations of that theme and the war. Obviously something in war scared or scarred him as a child. A guy with a lot of money doing variations on the same theme, and has an attitude about it. I see nothing great here.
@onam78016 жыл бұрын
Rich ter guerre art?
@vaderetro2646 жыл бұрын
Many great artists in history produced variations of the same theme for their entire life, and some of them not only had an attitude but were actually very difficult if not evil people. So the problem here is only whether Kiefer's art is honest and has a good reason to be.
