The country house to me looks like a mausoleum. It's not grand enough to uphold the gothic, unlike St. Pancras. I think Dan's view of it as a public building is appropriate. Interesting that the owner actually was a monster.

The country house looks more Italianate but with mostly arched windows. It’s a hybrid-gothnate or Italianic. I’m not a fan of this look. It looks like something that Prince Albert would’ve come up with.

Many people who regularly handle archival material now avoid wearing gloves because they cause more deterioration than they stop. Just saying.
