With this battery, how low can you go on the voltage meter on the taranis before it suddenly shuts down?
@sp8rk5 жыл бұрын
Hi, I never run it down that low, I have been down to about 7 volts and it was fine, I'll turn it on later and let it drain and I'll let you know :)

@@sp8rk hi! Thx! It's because the crossfire mini module eats power on 250mw, and under load it's often below 7 V. The problem with these batteries is that they can stay forever on 7V and then boom, it's all over in 10 minutes, so I wonder how to deal with that.

Do you need to keep the Taranis ON while charging?
@sp8rk4 жыл бұрын
No I have mine off, I have been charging mine since I did the video and have had no issues at all, I recommend keeping it off while charging :)
@HeaftyBlast6 жыл бұрын
Could you use a jack connector and hook it up with a usb cable to charge it using a usb wall charger or simply a computer port? if it's possible to, it would be nice to have such a cable to charge while you use the simulator.
@sp8rk6 жыл бұрын
Hi, I'm sure it could be done but from what little I know you really need a smart charger to cut off when you reach fully charged, I've had a quick Google and found a usb two cell charger but not a 6 cell one for the taranis. I'll keep looking, maybe a possible future video :)

so after receiving my controller and doing this mod, i did my research and no we can't unless we have some kind of voltage modulator. anyway too much hassle :P thanks for the answer!
@augustinmeignan5 жыл бұрын
can i do the same but use a lipo instead ?
@sp8rk5 жыл бұрын
Augustin MEIGNAN yes you could, obviously keep the same voltage, if your going to do the charge port, use your lipo charger :)

How fast can I charge it? And when do I have to charge it?
@sp8rk5 жыл бұрын
I normally charge at 1amp which takes about an hour or so to fully charge , after that it comes down to how often you use your radio , for me about every two to three weeks :) more if you don't fly much :)

Seems like a lot of work ,the qx7 I just Got has a 2s balance port just on bottom left outside corner so I take it that's for charging without taking out battery must be new feature oh and they don't suply battery tray
@sp8rk6 жыл бұрын
Must be a new revised version maybe, it's the only problem I had with the controller was the charging options.

Sorry I did got out of camera on a few shots, nothing important missed tho, just removing middle lead from ballance cable and screwing the plug onto the case I think :)

I heard that you can't use your radio if you're charging at the same time. you would break your radio they said.
@sp8rk6 жыл бұрын
I have turned my radio on while charging and had no adverse affects, but normally i only charge at 0.5 amps and it doesn't take ages to charge and your good to go.
