Imagine being this guy, so adamant that the wasp is "laying eggs" when in fact it was so obviously only trying to sting, and getting shown up by his 10 year old kid who is actually correct. The wasp does not lay the egg (yes, only a SINGLE egg) until after it drags the spider to the spider's den. Listen to your kids, parents. They know more than you think.

Fun fact: tarantula hawks inject enough venom for the tarantula to move a little and when they get tired and lazy they just leave the spider there and force it to lay its eggs by sting it repeatedly

That's the most dad thing I've ever heard. "I GUARANTEE she's trying to lay the eggs... noooo, no she's still stinging called it guys totally called it" and the mom kills me LOL, "Well I'm not happy about it! Give the thing some space for god's sake--" Also, the tarantula hawk was probably stinging repeatedly so she could see how much venom it would take to down the spider without overdoing it, since she wants to paralyze, not kill, and also not waste the venom

When I was around the age of these kids, I stepped on a tarantula hawk. The pain was indescribable! I couldn't feel my leg and I got dizzy. My parents didn't really care as "it was just a bug bite". I am now 38 and I still have the "tattoo" left by the dark thick poison. On the next day, I was perfectly fine (still hurting tough)! But then I stepped on a nest of wasps while climbing a tree. Got 12 stings and had to jump from the tree (4m high). Let's just say I wasn't a very lucky kid... hahaha! I have other stories with much bigger stuff!

The parent was so wrong thruout the whole video. I love how the child had patience and understanding of the situation. This is what what expands their minds. He obviously had some knowledge of them and got to see it in action. Instead of argueing with the kid maybe next time what and see what happens and maybe don't discredit your child so much, you never know what they know

C'mon buddy, we all love an underdog but the kid just happened to watch some videos about this insect on his cellphone, that dad paid for, in his house, that dad paid for, while dad was at work, too busy to watch 8 million internet videos. No, dad is most certainly smarter than the child, 99.99% of the time, until they're 35-40 yrs old.

You can hear in the kid's final "yeah" that he already knows they won't be coming back to it. His intelligence will see him fine when he's older though.
