I've always thought that the assassin bugs faces look like they're wearing a teeny plague doctor masks lol. they're so inquisitive and active! Ruthless little buggers!

Cool update Alex, glad all your isopods are doing well and breeding. It can be extremely anxiety inducing, trying to make sure something newer and expensive gets cared for correctly etc.

Nature's Exquisite Creatures one of my favorite vendors. Lillie is awesome. As a bonus: I live in San Antonio, so I don't even have to pay shipping.

I wish I had known you were looking for horrida. I have a friend in CA that's always giving people some, because his colony has grown out of control. I think he has 2 of those 50 gallon storage bins full of cork bark, and they are everywhere.

Hey Alex, if you want to boost your reproduction rates with the assassin bugs, try keeping a small corner of the substrate slightly damp. The females tend to lay eggs in damp soil, even though their husbandry says to keep them bone dry. I rehoused mine into a 12×12×12 Reptizoo enclosure. It has a sliding lid, so they don't escape. I have a small 8oz deli cup in there was some peat and compost, and I keep just that deli cup slightly damp.

I’m obsessed with isopods! I only got some for my Bioactive spider tanks, and now I have more variety’s of isopods than spiders because I just can’t stop buying them!😂 I’m dying for some magic potion and rubber duckies but they’re sooooo expensive here in the UK!

For better chances in breeding in horrid assasin bugs you should try and place a humid box (can be any container tbh ) cause they like to lay eggs in humid places

I don’t know what it is about the assassin bugs that give me the heebie jeebies. It may be because when I was a young 20 something female doing a world tour and was coming to the end in Costa Rica before moving on to the US and then home to Scotland managed to get bit by an assassin bug and ended up extremly ill when I got home (fortunately) with Chagas’ disease. I don’t know if the bugs kept as “pets” carry the parasite but be Uber careful about notes just in case I’m in love with your wee duck isopod, they are as cute as get out.

I'm thinking ab getting some cubaris species as well. Where'd you find the limestone rock? And is that a better option than mixing limestone w the substrate?

Sorry mate but i don't feel your connection with the Slater beetles (isopods) we have them in Plague portion here in Australia thay are pest hear. $75 for a dozen??? Hell no....

Yeah sorry, but I find all these bugs quite lacking in appeal except for on "Monster Bug Wars" where they get eaten and physically disembowled by Preying Mantises. Alex......please no @!#$%&( ant videos !!!!! Don't be like Clint who's now doing bird videos.
