Thanks for reacting to this! She's pure talent. This is one of the few live performances where there's no pitch correction, giving us much more to talk about in regards to technique since you can hear the minor imperfections that are otherwise masked by software.

I love how she called her Camilla in the beginning and then pronounced it right because of the person who announced her on the performance I appreciate that because it's so frustrating when people keep calling her Camilla even if they hear someone else pronounce it right (okay now that I kept watching it went back to Camilla lmao it's fine though)

when you were talking about signs of uneven vibrato or just nerves, she was definitely very nervous for this performance, it’s a very personal song and she’s used to singing songs that are more upbeat at award shows and it was her first time singing it in front of other important people (artists). from time to time you can see her hands shaking and at the end she definitely looks very relieved
@em20586 жыл бұрын
I love your reaction videos. It’s very interesting to hear a professional vocal coach explain why these amazing singers sound so amazing. However, I would also love to see you reacting to less experienced singers on KZbin who are more likely to see your reaction, appreciate it and learn from it.

Hey Tara! I just wanted to say that I am not a singer but I AM an instrumentalist (mainly clarinet) and the critiques and explanations that you give are just as relatable! In this case, you’re aside about how lack of support in the abs will cause pressure in other parts of the body to produce a note. . . I experience that trying to get notes out of the clarinet. I taught myself how to play the instrument so while I have been playing the clarinet decently well for 12 years now, I lack that foundational knowledge and technique you were talking about. This just shows how valuable you’re advise is and how much you truly care about the voice and sound production. That passion and sincerity is why I’ve slowly fallen in love with your videos and why I thank greatly for sharing!

Two tone with same frequency can sound different because they have different timbre. Yes, technically it called timbre. I'm audio amplifier product designer who learn about something like that. Tara, you have very good ears. Please critique the audio quality, specially when live singing.

Very informative reaction/review. Thank you, Coach Tara.

Is it possible that the thing she did at "sunshine" and "senses" is a stylistic thing too. Cause to me, as a fan who doesnt know anythig about music technically, that sounded much angsty and emotional, and raw.. I have heard the studio recording of this song and the way she closes up and makes it sound like she is ... crying or smth and makes me feel more. Again. I dont know anything about music. Just asking if it could've been intentional. Cause it still sounds good to my untrained ears tbh

Xhesiana Elmazi yup. What she did totally fit the vibe of her voice.

ME TOO
@roughrosa4 жыл бұрын
I believe it is more stylistic choices rather than be too on point on technique. Yes, for the emotion. But importantly it is also to fit the overall rhyming of the song: consequences, senses. If she changed the vowel so much, it would be awkwardly inconsistent throughout, and listeners would know something is not right to the ear but yet don’t know what exactly is wrong, if you know what I mean.

I would LOVE for a vocal coach, especially you to react to " Beyonce 1+1 rehearsal " . It's so raw and probably the best way to get a real reaction to Beyonce vocals with no edits or post production on them.
@johnokamoto67626 жыл бұрын
loved her pacing on the words and pauses, the gracefulness of her arms. Makes me listen to each word so much more. I think if some people try to sing like her they would really be straining to get those high airy notes. Is that why you warn people not to try to sound like certain singers?

I feel like the way she sings the 'senses' is harder but also intensional. It sounds a lot more emotional than when you open the sound. I don't know if I can express myself alright but to me its like shes choking on her words almost to increase the feeling of sadness she's trying to achieve. Anyway I really like the advices you gave. i've never noticed before that I do tend to emulate people's voice to certain songs when I really like their version of it.

She's ridiculously cute, but her voice is too sweet for my taste. I saw her fans saying that song is emotionally heavy for her, so maybe that's the reason she was a bit tense. You can clearly see that weight going away at 11:21
