These are some great tips on how to make sure you don't hurt yourself trying to belt but what about technique? I'd love to kno more about vowel shape, tongue placement and air support.

Yeah i was waiting for that part too, the most important part! The title of the video is misleading because it doesn’t tell us HOW to belt.

I use pocket jam app to lower, or even raise pitch and tempo. You’ll find yourself doing all sorts of vibrato and runs that you otherwise couldn’t in the original key.
@soulovelee_24333 жыл бұрын
Honestly this particular vid didn’t really help me much. I was hoping for technique, like what is it that has to change in my mouth or throat to belt and produce a big sound. Because I never sound right when I attempt belting, I was told I use mixed voice instead of chest voice, so maybe you can do a video that goes more into detail? (Or maybe you already have one on your channel?!)

to belt you need to project the voice from your mask (your face) not your throat/chest. you need volume, so you have to control the air output - not too much air or you'll blow the note and maybe even hurt your throat.

@@thecozyconstellation is that what is called mixed voice? When you sing from your mask?
@soulovelee_24333 жыл бұрын
@@thecozyconstellation okay, cause people keep telling me to practice with „hey“ as if I was yelling at someone across the street but it keeps hurting my vocal cords, and if I sing more mask-y apparently I switch into mixed voice. 😭Maybe not everybody is able to belt? Like I couldn’t imagine Norah Jones belting like Christina or come with a force like Celine 🤷🏽♀️

So the video doesn't actually say how to belt, but how to expand your range plus some technical tips to follow, I wanted a video on how to belt like how exactly to do this.

I love this video! I just had a big karaoke night (which I'm really feeling the day after) and was thinking about making a shortlist of songs that I can work on perfecting for the next one so that I can have fun without straining my voice muscle. This happened to pop into my feed at just the right time. Thank you!
Can you do a video on how to properly support belted notes? It’s my real struggle

its like shouting but with less tension on the throat its way up there in the mix before your voice breaks into pure falsetto, try using the vowels 'a' or 'e' while singing high in your chest range and you'll find the right placement.. also make sure you're supporting air flow and not using too much breath to reach it.
@HawkMcDork2 жыл бұрын

Awesome video as usual!🔥 So, Tara, in example: if as a guy, with time, I'm able to hit like B4 (to be clear for everyone: the B below tenor high C) in chest voice (and I don't feel pain/discomfort), can I keep singing in chest voice that high or would I damage my vocal chords doing that? It's sooo important for me to know this, so that I can practice with more "relaxation" . Thank you 😘😘

Hey team! I have a question, which notes can a person really belt? My voice breaks into head voice or falsetto after an F4. So how do I know if I could ever belt an A4 like coach Jeremy just did? Do people belt notes right before that break? A little over that break? You explain in the video that we need to find a note in our range but does that mean I should try to "belt" an E4 (near the top of my chest voice) or a G4 (above my break to head voice)?
