Hi! I am trying to follow the steps in your video and for some reason once I've highlighted a song and clicked file>convert> the mp3 file option is grayed out and unclickable. I changed my preferences though so I don't understand why it won't show the mp3 as an option?

Ive thought about putting braille stickers on the cards, even if the kid isnt blind, i feel like it will help get kids used to braille in case they need to use it in the future. I havent found transparent sticker paper though so i dont know how it would work. I just thought this system would work better for a child/adult that might have little/no vision,without using an app or a cd player where you could break it if the sticker falls off. I dont know if the yoto app does screen reading either.

Once you have added your music, say 25 tracks, how do you find the track you want to listen to? I am trying to convert my books on tape to digital and looking for a way for my grandkids to be able to pick and listen to the books they want.

You are able to assign pictures to the different tracks and then you can use the Yoto player button to switch tracks!

I cannot figure out how to have Yoto download the MYO card to the player 😭😭😭 I don’t want to rely on wifi; we don’t even have wifi… (technically we use hotspot data). All her purchased cards download in less than a minute, but with MYO, it just sits in the “not downloaded” category. Anyone else have this issue? 😭😭😭 I’m still on the hunt to find an answer. If I can figure it out, I’ll come back and let others know, cause this is so frustrating. Also ty for the tutorial. I had alrdy figure out the myo process, but you’re very clear and concise. It would have helped me along the way LOL

What app were you using? If you use the Voice Recorder app on your iPhone you should be able to save the mp3 file and share it to your computer! Hope that helps!

Yes, the cards can be used with any Yoto! I don’t think there is a limit of how many make your own cards you can have, I suppose it’s however many you decide to buy. We probably have about 10 make your own cards

And as for the icons, you can upload any 16x16 PNG file (preferably with a transparent background) and it automatically changes it to pixels.

I’ve never tried glue, but I’ve printed out stickers and haven’t had an issue. Unfortunately I no longer have a discount code with Yoto :(

Thank you for this video. Have you experienced music buffering on the player once audio is downloaded? Our mini is doing so with a few songs. Would this be a glitch on the website I downloaded audio from or a faulty player?

Hmm, I haven’t noticed that happening with ours. I’d it is happening with all of your cards I would say it is the player, but if it’s just one card it could be the audio on the card.

Unfortunately streaming services do not allow you to download the music, think of it like you are “renting” the song. 🙁

They don’t make it easy, honestly I would just Google it- there are some other YT videos that show you how to purchase! It’s kinda a hidden feature!

I just purchased 30 songs through iTunes only to find out that they cannot convert to mp3, because they are protected. So I'm pretty disappointed.

I did convert mine to mp3 for the first card because this video said that they needed to be mp3. But after that I read you don't need to and have had no problem with dragging it/saving it in a different folder in the format it is already in.

You will need internet connection to set it up, but you are able to use it offline after it is set up!

Hi, thank you for the video. Just got my first Yoto and have a lot of questions. 😆 I linked some music to the welcome card, but it kind of becomes blank every time I turn the player off and on again. So I have to link the music to the card every time I switch the player on. Does it work like that??

Hi! Sorry the delay. We actually lost our welcome card, so I never got to try it out. You shouldn’t have to link it every time, you should just have to link it once! I would try reaching out to Yoto, they might send you a new card!

I read on the website that you can stream internet radio stations. I have tried to do this from I heart radio and a few other online radio sites by copying and url but it doesn't work. Have you successfully done this ? Their support hasn't given me much help. Or do you know what online site provides the right url for this kind of stream ? Thanks !

Hi! You can use any purchased music in iTunes, you will not be able to use music that is through a streaming service (like Apple Music or Spotify).

We bought a yoto. These are terrible devices. Not only do parents have to go to great lengths to set up what should be a simple system, the software is extremely invasive and anti-privacy. No reason for a phone to be connected to the devise. In the end a decent streaming app on an iPad with a Bluetooth speaker is a million times more straightforward for a child.
