I was pretty lucky with this video. I considered riding the other car, but I was so happy with the first ride I just left it at that. Escalators coming this evening.

That's a pretty tall store for a Target Store. The motor also sounds similar to the Herald Square Uniqlo Store too.

You know, the motor sounds like the motor on the elevators at the former Walmart at Baldwin hills Crenshaw mall in Los Angeles Ca.

This property actually did a parallel owner jump... This Robinson-May location was BUSY... but when Federated bought out Robinson-May, the location was closed so as not to compete with the Macy's store. Target Corp. was formerly Dayton's Corp. The Dayton's Department Stores (renamed Marshall Fields when Dayton's bought them) were bought by Federated and all rebadged as Macy's. So, Target Corp (formerly Dayton's) replaced this Robinson-May when the company was purchased by the same company that bought Dayton's... and Target went into this location. I know that's long-winded and possible not interesting. (But I find it interesting...)

I DEFINITELY find that interesting haha

This is without a doubt interesting. This situation is also interesting. This is a unique store. Also, (I should save my finger energy typing this, LOL) I am certain you are familiar with the Hudson Corporation also. J. L. Hudson's, Dayton's, Target... Thank you for your long comments. Keep 'em coming. Even if I hadn't responded just know that your comments are certainly appreciated.

@@alpaljl Indeed. And, technically, I should've said Dayton-Hudson Corp. when referencing the Marshall Fields acquisition... Slightly related... One of the greatest crimes of architecture was the implosion of the bohemeth 23-story Hudson's flagship store on Woodward Ave. in dntwn. Detroit!

@@Dana_Danarosana I never knew about that building until COVID. A man has a restored Hudson's passenger elevator car in his home. It functions! Seriously. Search Hudson's Elevator restored on KZbin. There's a survivor out there! As for the building itself, I truly wish I could have seen it with my own two eyes.

@@alpaljl Wow! Thanks! I found it. How cool! I never got to see the inside of the store but I was there on a college hockey band trip in 1994 and walked around the outside of the massive thing. There are several videos on KZbin of the history and one of a flea market held in the closed store where the filmer snuck upstairs... and, of course, of the implosion. It did set the record for largest building ever imploded (but that didn't make it any better...)

Very rare for a Target elevator to have 1 door instead of 2

Heres a funny thing, soon this wont be the only Target in a Glendale that's gonna be more than one floor. Glendale, Wisconsin is getting a two story Target.

Very unique! And have you heard? The iPhone 6S will still be supported with iOS 15.
@alpaljl3 жыл бұрын
I have heard. I am very surprised and happy that the 6S will still be supported. I do plan on upgrading this fall, however.

It’s funny you say this is the fanciest target you’ve stepped in since almost all the ones here in MN look like this (just one floor) lol! Must be a thing here since they’re headquarterd here
@alpaljl3 жыл бұрын
It potentially could be a thing. A bunch of Los Angeles locations are updated, but not to this store's extent.
