That movie looks like it’s going to be ridiculous. I’m not saying that Godzilla can’t be ridiculous, but this is the Monsterverse, if it had started out ridiculous, I wouldn’t have been disappointed. Basically what i’m saying is that Adam Wingard should have just made another series if he wanted to implement his childish ideas into the Monsterverse, because that’s not at all what the Monsterverse is about. None of the Kaiju have any scale to them either, they all feel 10x smaller than they actually are. I know people love the Showa era, but that doesn’t give them the right to turn something that was distinct for not being that, into the thing that it was special for not being. It’s like going turning the Batman 2022 into a goofy Adam West movie.
