Used to love the world today show with Tariq. Was extremely informative for international politics from a Marxist perspective.

The US needs an antiwar movement. A big “congress” like Stop the War in the U.K. would be great… maybe linking DSA, CodePink, etc and creating one big, single issue organisation ☮️

Ask this fraud what he has to say about the Pakistani proxy war in Afghanistan.

lol Tariq has been attacked and castigated by the Pakistani govt since he was a teenager, say something or stfu Edit: Tariq Ali IN THIS INTERVIEW *eye roll*: "The United States played a huge role in arming Pakistan and the military dictatorship in that country to try and defeat the Russians [in Afghanistan]" "And when the French journalist interviewing Brzezinski asked 'There's been a huge increase of Jihadi terrorism' [to which he replied contempously] 'what are a few jumped up Muslims compared to the defeat on the Soviet Union'" He literally mentions it in this interview Marcus! What are you talking about! You don't have the wherewithal to even listen to the interview before you try to smear Tariq as a fraud, absolutely childish and ignorant behavior.

Tariq Ali's parents were actually communists. He departed from their kind of communism when he became a Trotskyist activist in the 60's. Tariq Ali has told about his family backround on many occasions, so I suppose he is not ashamed of it. He has also written about Pakistan, for example The Duel - Pakistan on the Flight Path of American Power (2008).

@@VK-zc2un From a young age Tariq spoke truth to power and the Pakistani military dictatorship silenced him over it. Yes he comes from privilege BUT he used his privilege to become an intellectual for the voiceless and speak truth to power so frankly Idgaf, all people from privilege should do that shit.

@@wachowski9525 I think the OP is referring to current allegations of Pakistan having continued to support the Taliban post 2001. Only one answer comes up as to the reason why the Taliban retook power and that's down to American corruption in Afghan society. Very few people ever look across the border East. Pakistan is barely looked at.
