All good !!!!followed the video took everything apart and inspected the gears all was fine. My gear layout was a a little different so it took me a bit to fit all the gears back together. I dry tested on the wires from the micro to see if it worked and it did. Now i will put it all back together...Cheers

Awesome video. Thanks heaps, I fixed my grumbling turntable motor. The grease that they used in my motor had gunked up and was causing the issues. I removed the old grease with Medi swabs (isopropyl alcohol) and used Doustgrease Anti-Wear Grease to lubricate them. Doustgrease has no smell and won’t dry out. I recommend taking photos of your motor every time a gear is removed. I would not recommend using WD40 (Classic), it will make your microwave stink and it will dry out after a while. According to the MSDS it is very toxic. I found two small clear plastic washers when I was pulling my motor apart. One was under the rotor (the dark round thing) and the other was under the left most gear (when the wiring is closest to you). To avoid damaging the pin, don't use cutters on it. Wrap a piece of cloth around it and use a small shifter or small water pump pliers.

Great 👍, I used WD-40 only for removing rust

@@TARIQLAB I use Evaporust liquid for rust removal, it works really well. Just keep in mind that this can remove oxide coatings. I haven't used the new Evaporust Gel product which can even be applied to vertical surfaces. It's supposed to removes rust stains as well. For rust protection I use Super Blue by Birchwood Casey for blueing the metal and olive oil as part of the blueing process. I'm not sure how wear resistant the surface will be.

I have an overhead microwave and was able to drop the bottom off with 3 screws. I put a bottle of water in and started it with the bottom panel hanging down. I could feel the motor vibrate because it was running. So i figured it's a stripped gear. Nothing to lose, so i carefully opened the motor. The plastic gear attached to the black magnet slipped apart but wasn't stripped or broken. I supper glued it back dead center, and that fixed the problem. I have a new one coming, but im not sure it will be delivered in this decade 😂

Looks like a lamp power cord. You can buy them with the ends exposed or you can make one yourself easily with a salt lamp power cord.

Not a good idea to lubricate or spray plastics with WD-40 ! It is way better to use a grease paste,or fine machine oil.
