For the benefit of all of us who are practising hindus,the brahmins duty is to be the custodian of the vedas,shastras,puranas,agamas,all of which were complied by non brahmins about99 percent.in the temple ,the brahmins are the custodians of the rituals to the diety.the brahmins had to observe severe anushtaanam to be ELIGIBLE to do this custodian duties.the brahmins with less anushtanam were given the duty of teaching and propagating the vedas,upanishads,puranas.there are four classes of brahmins described in the puranas with different levels of anushtaanams .so they were the first target by the conversion agents.it was a two way agenda1) make the brahmins openly feel the severity of anushtaanams and tempt them with better life through clerical education in English.those brahmin youth who could not observe discipline fell into the trap and they eventually became communists or liberals.2) the non brahmins were made to feel that the brahmins are somehow superior to them as they are nearest to the diety,nearer to the govt and so they were tempted to distance this community and the temple by creating their own community temples.
