Man, it looks like the bag mechanic is gonna be pretty complex, with all the item combinations. I noticed the sad onion made the wind up time quicker, while brimstone added the laser. I wonder if the bags limited to two items, or you can add more somehow? Either way, it looks interesting as heck. Also, i bet there's a limit to the number of bags you can hold at a time so unlimited bag easter egg when lol

My guess is that he can only attack with the bag and he gets special bags with certain items that mimic the effect of the item but he doesn't get the item itself and I'm not sure if synergies would work or if he would just get two separate bags with tech+brimstone, for example, he could either get a tech bag and a brimstone bag or get a technology+Brimstone bag, it would be rather lame if sinergies didn't work

My guess at how this works: Every item is placed in a separate bag. Tarnished Cain cannot fire tears (like the blindfold in some challenges), and thus has to pick up the bags. This character is based more on skill then RNG, as you are fully unable to combine your items into one bag. Every bag has a attribute to show what item is inside, like how brimstone made the bag red.

Very cool! I had some other ideas for tarnished characters. Here they are: (In no particular order) Tarnished Lost Does more damage the closer they are to enemies and bosses. Their pocket active gives a book of shadows style invincibility effect but charges like 4.5 volt, call it spirit's vengeance or something. They would also have the classic flight and spectral tears. Maybe with a speed boost or something. It would be cool to see if players would go into enemies headfirst or keep their distance until they could charge their shield. They would also have the lost's birthright effect of rerolling items useless to the lost (like health upgrades and flight items), but not tainted lost's mechanic of rerolling low-quality items and rerolling items without the offensive tag. Tarnished Eden: Would have a random start like normal Eden but with a special pocket active. When they saw an item they can either pick it up as normal OR use their pocket active to turn it into a glitch item that would have a random item effect per room, similar to modeling clay but with a twist. The glitch items will be in the same pool, for example: If you went into an angel room and turned Celtic Cross into a glitch item it would always be from the angel pool every time you walked into a room. Also glitching devil deals or shop items will subtract the cost, so don't try to think you can get free stuff! Tarnished Eve: Eve has a theme of sacrificing health for power. I think it would be fitting if tarnished eve could use an active item that would give broken hearts in exchange for stat upgrades or maybe even items! Maybe you could unbreak them by sacrificing stats or items or maybe Tarnished eve could spawn confessionals or something to sacrifice even more health. I think it would be a pretty cool character. Those were my ideas for tarnished characters! Doubt they will be implemented but make sure to tell me what you think!

Other characters usualy have some kind of gameplay theme that they follow across versions so I like how Vanilla, Tainted and Tarnished Cains are completely unrelated in every way possible.

Cain's theme is pickups. - unlocked by having 55 coins - gets a trinket that makes keys more efficient - starting item makes room rewards appear more often, which are usually pickups - Tainted Cain's whole Schtick is BoC

Hearts: Vampirism effect when bag hits an enemy. Eternal hearts: bag will cause Holy strike when landing. Soul hearts: enemies killed will spawn a temporary fly(going through doors will remove one). Dark hearts: bag hitting an enemy will cause a small version of the Dark heart effect. Keys: Throwing bag through doors will take the bag and, when you enter that room, the bag will fly out immediately. Batteries: Lightening will spark out wherever the bag lands. (I imagine that this version of Cain would collect pickups as ammo, and being able to drop some if he wants to.)
