Thanks again....sorry for the late reply. The fire mainly is to chase away evil spirits....lols... nah jokes... It's and old tradional practice where the smoke generally helps plants and trees grow well. I think from experience and then passed on. Today through science we know that fire gives off CO2 via smoke which plants and trees love to absorb for photosynthesis and releasing O² back into the atmosphere.
