Red Panda Keeper Talk at Taronga Zoo Sydney

Meet our fiery Red Panda cubs Mishry (meaning sweet), Rohan (ascending) and Ishwar (powerful) who were born in late 2018 as part of an incredibly successful global breeding program coordinated to help protect their wild counterparts. Found across the Himalayas, including China and Nepal, the Red Panda is increasingly rare in the wild, with less than 10,000 remaining due to the illegal wildlife trade, and capture in traps intended for deer and wild pigs.

Omg, Red Panda Keeper talk! Thank you Taronga Zoo. They are extraordinary creatures, I notice they can use their paws like hands to hold food. I can see them being vulnerable to trafficking in the illegal pet trade in addition to the terrible environment habitat destruction. I learnt so much from this talk. Discovered 48 years before the Giant Panda, I had no idea. I need to research these animals more. :) I really want to visit when travel is allowed again.
