Some people will choose never to love you... because they want what they want.... we can love them enough to let them go find what they think they want... and patch ourselves up after they tell us we are broken, red flags, and not safe. A new beginning to choose not to abandon yourself anymore when they do..... Perhaps communicating self compassion when others are dishing up judgement might be a nice place to start? We can improve the relationships we have with ourselves first.... and love ourselves enough to still spend time alone when we need space. Red flags are the places where we need to add more self care, self compassion and self soothing. Your insights are such a blessing. Thank you.

Gregory, I also was in hermit mode in my late 30's after one relationship disaster after another. I was only attracting rubbish people in relationships and needed to take a break and work on my self worth. After about a year into hermit mode the Universe decided I was ready. A person who turned out to be the love of my life came to my home to do a maintenence repair.....20 years later we are still loving, learning and being respectful. There has definitely been many ebbs and flows. You'll know when the person is worth all the work it takes to make a relationship work. Now go break something that needs a repairman!

I’ve lost people in my life because I love myself enough to set up healthy boundaries. Don’t miss them a bit. I am very unapologetic about not giving to others when I have nothing to give myself. Boundary 1 everyone in my life must have integrity. Those who have integrity will want the highest good for all. Boundary 2 appreciate ALL of me for whom I am and what I give. I think the universe drew me to personal growth through astrology. I always joke with people that I can't afford therapy so I watch my horoscopes. But in all seriousness, I absolutely resonated with this reading and hope you go forward and continue to give readings that are as open and vulnerable as this. It's great to hear other people admit that they also run away from conflict (INFJ?). I want harmony so I'm always running from situations where I feel uncomfortable. I don't want to fight because I suck at thinking on my feet at least in the sense of verbal combat. I can write out what I wish I could say quite eloquently, but in the moment I'm liable to get so frustrated I'll start crying and that makes me even more frustrated! So I'm with you in the "thanks, but no thanks/gotta bounce out" attitude. And I don't think there's a bigger trigger for anyone than family! I just got a surprise confession that really is something this other person should be working through and acknowledging they messed up, but of course I found myself giving them absolution because I didn't want to make it more awkward than it already was. So now my instinct is to ghost that person for awhile because once I had time to process what they were telling me, I realized what a shitty deal it was that they were a part of and how it majorly changed my life years ago. And yet, if I do ghost them, then they'll have no idea how I really feel. You're not kidding about this being heavy energy. So in conclusion (to my novel 🤦‍♀️), your honesty is working like a mirror and I see myself in your words. Hoping I can figure out how to handle it and become better for it.🤗

I attended a recovery Buddhist meeting today where all were so loving and accepting of all backgrounds, They're called Queer Path.(Recovery Dharma on Sundays FB. You are so welcome there!) I have 47 years continuous sobriety and am still sensitive to negative remarks, but thanks to healing from narcissist abuse found in SPAN on Facebook and other therapy - i find joy at least once in a day. It’s helpful to remember that we don’t see the world as it is, we see it as we are. So everybody’s opinions are more reflective of their inner states than of what they’re looking at or listening to. And also... opinions are just points of view, not facts, and we all have them, and we are all free to have them - we all have a right to our opinions, and a right to change them. They just aren’t as important as we have been encouraged to make them. Deepak Chopra offered a great way to get lighter around this topic - and these are my notes, he says it better - 1. Commit 100% to never playing the victim. Never complain, criticize, condemn or play the victim. 2. Stop obsessing about the future. 3. Stop regretting and obsessing about the past. 4. Be as present as you can be - let life unfold with no labels, no judgments. 5. Stay immune to both criticism and flattery. - Either be free, or be at the mercy of every person on the planet.- (He adds that the ego loves melodrama, that it’s in the energy of the first three chakras, and that that melodrama interferes with creativity) 6. Be responsive to, and use, feedback - use it to learn, grow and evolve. The mantra associated with this liberation from painful ego self-talk is - om gum ganapataya namaha. Or om Ganesh namah.
