Hi - Sorry I missed the live stream. I recommend you read The Yellow Wallpaper. Perkins wrote it as an argument against Emily Bronte's Wuthering Heights [edited to fix my error], Charlotte Bronte's Jane Eyre, and similar stories. The Yellow Wallpaper is about the infantilization, mistreatment, and confinement of women by men and society. It's a deconstruction of the Madwoman in the Attic archetype. It's a horror story and does not have a happy ending. Perkins changed literature and influenced the feminist movement.
