Great video can’t wait for next part love how you explain the cards - the snake I also see as complications; the whip I also see as emotional abuse e,g continual criticism or possible physical abuse in a relationship and the birds could be anxiety/nervousness or noisy mind chatter - just wanted to share these alternatives

Not all cards have astrological signs attributed to them. You can however make your own associations. You said earlier you understand the meaning of planets. Use that! What celestial body would you attribute.

Hi, TO. How did we go from a birch broom (I'm guessing to sweep things away) to a whip AND the broom? If you just have the broom on an old card do you need to modernize the reading to include the sexual component?

The original Whip card, from the Viennese Coffee Grounds Deck (Austria 1794), and the Game of Hope Deck (Germany 1799), featured a Birch Whip. This is a handheld device, made from birch twigs, used to whip/punish people. Look up “Birching” on Wikipedia. So not a broom/brush to clean with. So the card never meant “cleaning, clearing” etc. and still doesn’t. Scythe means clearing things out. The original card meaning for Whip was “disagreements, arguments, confrontation, conflict”. This meaning was later expanded to include “cruelty, abuse, pain, violence, repetition” etc. The sexual associations came later on. In France the card is called “La Verge” meaning “The Rod”, because a birch whip is also called a birch rod. In French “la verge” is a slang term for a “man’s appendage” because…rod; similar to how people use the Ace of Wands in Tarot to mean that too. Also more recently, because of S&M etc. people associate whips with that, hence some card decks depicting flirtatious women holding whips. Modern readers have to decide whether they want to stick to the original “pure meanings” or adopt more modern expansive meanings.
