I like watching you create all these different shelters. You make them look easy. Fun too!

Good tutorial. The Gunyah is hands down my favorite tarp shelter. I've been playing around doing it with a ridgeline instead of poles as well.

I really like this shelter. Living in Maine, it would be impossible to get any rest with an open door design due to black flies and mosquitoes. I generally try to find closed door tarp designs. But this is a good mid fall design as the bugs are mostly gone by then.
@AdventureswithMud3 ай бұрын
@pierreaucoin2480 Definitely, a downside of using a tarp is trying to avoid those darn biting bugs. I picked up a Snugpak jungle bag with a built-in mosquito net to help with that. So far, I like how it works. Takes a moment to get used to it ,being all zipped up lol, and if you have long hair like me, watch out, zipping it up. That was a fun experience, haha. I have another fully enclosed shelter that is similar to the tarp tent that I will probably do next. 😁 I haven't made my way up to Maine yet, I hope to get to that upper corner of the US . One of the only areas I have yet to explore.

Great idea for me & “urban stealth shelter” but I don’t have a 10’ x 10’ tarp but a 5’ x 8” so maybe I’ll try to make a similar version without the ground sheet???
@AdventureswithMud11 күн бұрын
Nice, yeah, im sure you can pull off something similar with a 5x8. That would be interesting and fun to do. I have played around with rectangle tarps , but it has been a little while since I picked up the 10x10. Have fun 😁 👍

@AdventureswithMud I found my 6’8” x 7’6” USMC Woodland MARPAT tarp in perfect condition, maybe it’ll work for a smaller version (I don’t want to keep buying tarps lol) so I’ll give that a try also! Thanks again!

@ AdventureswithMud Asymmetrical Holden I’ve used with my smaller tarp, poncho from another video Have you tried it or have a video to show how to set up because it’s smaller & lower for limited tarps/ poncho size that’ll work for some? Plow point is also my other small use shelter (any other choices?) Thanks & I’ve subscribed from the first video of yours!

@IAMGWH1 I haven't done a video on the Holden pitch yet, but that is a great simple shelter for the bag of tricks. I've seen a lot of bushcrafters use that pitch. The plow point is definitely one of my favorite, so easy and great cover even with small tarps and ponchos. You would probably like the Tetra Wedge, my most recent tarpology video. With your larger rectangle tarp, probably give best results, but could make a variation of it with the smaller one. You have definitely peaked my interest in playing around more with a smaller rectangle tarp, my poncho would be closest thing I have at moment. Time to have some fun with it.Thank you so much for your continued support, very much appreciated my friend
