Thank you so much for your time and your opinions. This has helped me in my choice. Kind regards from Peter (Victoria, Australia) P.S. A very cool presentation too, laying back on your sleeping mat.... you just needed a wine glass in your hand!

The upgrade on the new Double Rainbow DW, did not come with a double zipper, that is the only thing i would love to had done to this tent. I did not get the handle side to put the hiking pole on the tent? I did get the tip side for the hiking pole. I notice the same effect of the fly, the pole and the fly, would not stay line up and would offset, not too far but enough to bug me Visual on the way the tent looks. Poly 20 D silicone fly , and the inter is now Nylon and the floor. Very happy with this! Over all a Great tent! I agree with what you pointed out, i still learning to get a better pitch to the doors, keeping them for going all the way down to the ground and no air flow. I leave in 3 days to go hike the Appalachian trail. Thanks for making this video.. Happy Trails..

I’m disappointed in the lack of two-way zipper too, I don’t understand why it’s omitted.

Very comprehensive review 👍🏼 I've been looking at the DW 2023 version as I'm interested to see how the sil poly performs. Your video is the only decent UK based review of the DW I've been able to find so thank you! Your mod suggestion for tying the inner to the outer is very similar to what Nemo do on the Hornet, and it makes a huge difference to interior space. Be good to see how yours works

Hi, the additional shock cord tie-outs work really effectively, and I believe the 2023 Tarptent update includes something similar to keep the inner wide.

Great video. I have the same tent and share your concerns about the centre arch alignment. I have used the tent in high winds and place my trekking poles, handles up, into the vents from the inside for extra stability. It really does make it bombproof.

I like that idea! Do you guy them out too, or just push the spike into the ground?

@@SJPSJPSJP push the spike into the ground and tighten the vestibule anchor points.

Really insightful and enjoyable review, best one I’ve seen so far. Great mod tips too. I have bought the ultra version as I have the scarp for winter camps. How does it fare in the winds when fully guyed out. Subbed and Atb.

Can you comment on whether or not you successfully sewed in some loops to mitigate the inner sagging issues? This is a minor issue I'd like to solve as well.

Any tips on how to pack the tent up in the rain without getting the inner too wet?

Nice. How is this tent when it comes to cold drafts, compared to a more solid inner (like the solid Scarp)? It seems it is mostly mesh, and a fly not really going very low. Do you notice much difference to more solid inner options (that go halfway up)?

I feel it’s definitely a summer-tent, the lack of wind-proofing from a ground-hugging fly and solid inner would make it chilly in windy conditions. Having said that, the fly can be cinched down to ground level and internal/external temperature will equalise over time in any tent, so I’d be comfortable using it down to just above freezing, but not in windy conditions.
