Normally I'd save the harmonics until the B section and just use an open 3-string Em in the A section, just so the listener gets a nice little surprise later on.

why do i hold my finger on the the 3 fred first string if i only play it once? is there a reason to it? its difficult to do xD

is it fine if i use my thumb instead to fret the bass note at the 3rd fret in the low e string, in the aIternate passage? im using my middIe finger to make that chord shape after the d7 which might be why im using the thumb
