Trekking to the lakes of Tarsar Marsar is one of the best ways to enjoy the real beauty of Kashmir.Starting from Aru valley near Pahalgam,it takes around 6 days for a round trip on foot.The views are so mesmerising that it will leave you stunned..You will be staying in tent and meals will be provided by the trek team which includes trek leader,trek guide,cokk and helpers along with horsemen.Around 10 horses were there in our group which carries the tents,utensils,food rations and our bags.

We also used stream water. It wss cold and tasty. But try to avoid taking water for drinking near camping site and near animal settlements

It is an app called accurate altimeter. No need for network.. Only switch on gps..

On a scale of 1-10 how difficult is this trek? Is the water safe to drink and does anyone experience AMS?

If you are trekkingbwith backpack it will be a bit difficult. You can use pony for carryingvyour big backpack. Then it will be better. Come prepared.. then it will be moderate.. Two of them had slight headaches at the top camp.. No AMS..

They will provide hot water in the morning and evening. You could use that..
