Это не только начало романтизма, она на самом деле вселяет необыкновенную надежду в душе, сразу покоряет спокойствием и безграничным трепетом одновременно! Sir, may I offer you a different view, without starting a dispute? I am very confident that this is NOT a pic of Tartini -- who was actually a priest, and looked nothing like the subject -- who, in turn, is Jean Marie Leclair (possibily [?] a pupil of Tartini). I happen to have studied 18th-Century French culture at the Master's Level, and can further assure you that this (pastel) portrait reflects friendly self-confidence -- not the smirking of vanity/"attitude". If you happen to value counterpoint, let me yet assure you that Leclair utterly "blew Tartini our of the water". He has been called, "The French Bach" -- and rightly so. Let me add that I LOVE the grace, elegance, symmetry, expressivity, and transparency of Tartini's music -- as I have, for over 50 years (when only people with a degree in music *might* have heard of him). Yet we have no factual reason to believe that the (actually nice-looking) Leclair is saying anything more than, "Allow me the pleasure of showing you what I can do," in this portrait. (Poor Tartini was rather a bit homely.)
@f.sarastre74913 жыл бұрын
@Silenus As I already opined, Leclair *earned* the title because his command of counterpoint rivals Bach's. Listen to his violin concertos, for example. I suppose you can counter-argue that Leclair was a tad less loquacious [as Sir Arthur Hutchings has rightly observed]. I suppose you could further counter that Bach used more chords of the seventh. So be it: I reject that thinking. Leclair, far more than Bach, exhibited musical synergy. Unlike, for example, the Bach of Brandenburg #1, his counterpoint was never a case of failing to see the forest for the trees. Bach was "turgid and confused," as never befell Leclair. Thanks for asking -- I presume . . .

Finally a painter that has put a bit of "soul" in his painting! A very good painting, I think, being a portret-painter myself. That Tartini seems to have been a friendly, happy man. The painter must have enjoyed making this portrait: in the 18e century it was not so usual to portrait people who produce a big smile....generally people look grim, as if they are angry or want to conquer the world, or dead-serious, no time for laughs, look at my expensive clothes......and the music seems to go very well along with this lovely portrait.

@@unciclistacontraelsistema8620 You are right! This cover is not the Portrait of Tartini. The link you showed is Tartini. The cover is Jean-Joseph Cassanéa de Mondonville (1711-1772). For me, a portrait says a lot about the composer's personality, and the style of Tartini's music is very different from Mondonville's music. They should fix it because a lot of people are having this error. I wouldn't buy a CD of Beethoven's Symphonies with the Bach Portrait as the main theme.
