Disney's Tarzan opened Friday, April 20 and runs at Arizona Broadway Theatre through May 20.
David Appleford on the Valley's 99.9 KEZ says of the cast:
"Jason Paul is a ferocious and commanding presence as Kerchak, the leader of the gorillas; Laura Berger possesses not only an exceptional singing voice for her tender rendition of 'You'll be In My Heart' but she perfectly displays the heart and soul of a caring mother to her adopted man-child; Maddy Clapps has great fun as Jane, delivering all of her lines in an amusing theatrically clipped upper-class British accent -- she's a Chatty Cathy who deals with her nerves by incessantly talking. But at the center of everything is Rhys Gilyeat as Tarzan, and he gets the adventurous tone of this youthful boy/man just right. His Tarzan is less Johnny Weissmuller's middle-aged body builder and more Brendan Fraser's George of the Jungle, and it works."
And about ABT:
"Arizona Broadway Theatre is a perfect night out for drinks, a dinner and a show with high-production values under one roof ... undoubtedly the valley's one-stop entertainment center, and great value to boot."
