I licked my toad, it jumped away, I followed it and found a tank. So I put on the outfit inside and drove it away. It was a really cool tank that could jump, it was awesome! But then the toad I licked started kicking in, so I got out of the tank. I wandered aimlessly as the world melted, I was out of my gourd on licked toad. When I finally came to, there was this thing trying to kill me, so I shot it. Then this alien with a shield and whip appeared, so I killed it. The castle I was in blew up, and I went back to the tank and drove away. Roll credits.

It's an early Metroidvania where you pilot a tank and explore dungeons on foot that was pretty ahead of its time. If you're interested they rebooted the series with "Blaster Master Zero" being a enhanced remake/reimagining of the first game that combines plots of both the Japanese and Localized versions that's on pretty much every modern console. There's also the original on NES Online, so if you have Nintendo Online you can play it for free.
