This was one of my absolute favorite games when I was little. It's too bad there wasn't a way to show off the Mech's death explosion it's a pretty baller sprite animation. Right up there with Batman when he dies in the NES version.

This game looks, sounds, and plays great. But the second playthrough is an insane difficulty increase (which is what this TAS shows, the password entered at the beginning starts the second playthrough).

Very nice TAS. Can you not use the bullets from the turrets at around 40secs to wrong warp? I know there are some stipulations to making them work, but it seems that would be one to go for.

Why did the players input the password at the beginning of the game if they could've just started the game to save time? And how did they skip to the bosses in some stages?

The password skips to hard mode. Otherwise you would have to beat the game first. The warp glitch happens when you pick up armor and take damage at the same time. No one has looked too closely but it seems to cause something bad to execute in the game. If you aren't so lucky the game might softlock.
