The Battle of Olympus (オリュンポスの戦い) is set in ancient Greece. A mortal man named Orpheus receives help from the gods and nymphs in his quest to save his lover Helene from Hades. People often compare this game with Zelda 2 ( tasvideos.org/... ) because of its similar gameplay.
This is an improvement of 6.06 seconds over the previous movie ( tasvideos.org/... ), mainly thanks to the jump-turn technique and better olive farming. Please read the authors' comments ( tasvideos.org/... ) for more details.

This game is so rad, and it was made by such a small group of people. And Horimoto and Oshida were a husband-and-wife team! Siiighhhh I love this game.

Ah, my favorite, underappreciated RPG, "Orpheus and the Bouncy House." Say what you want comparing it to Zelda II, but Euridice is way hotter than Zelda ever managed to be.

So why does the runner bother getting the first two pieces of love? Is it somehow faster than damage boosting through the barrier?

According to the TAS page, yes you can do this and get piece three before getting the others, but "the path to Tartarus will not open unless he leaves Crete with all three fragments of love."

Even if this comment was written 5 years ago i tell you that it's a possible thing only if you play this game in an emulator... In an NES i don't think you can press left and right at the same time (and that's what I'm supposing, since i only used and use famiclones 🤣)

This is a tas so there's no luck involved. It would probably never happen in a real run
