I've discovered a way to save time in any% TAS. AKA calculator skip After you do log skip (25:10) do the following steps: 1. Get to Ch 4 early by clipping in with the hammer and toad. 2. After you triggered Ch 4 go to the badge shop. 3. Do Ch 2 Mt. Rugged part. 4. Sell Whacka Bumps in the fright jar shop. 5. Buy Jump Charge + Speedy Spin without having to give him the calculator. The only way it would work is if we triggerd Chapter 2 again, and that means entering the Dry Dry Desert once and visiting Mt. Rugged two times. And thats mad slow. Trasher TTYD felt gritty by comparison, kinda like what SSBM and Twilight Princess were doing with their T ratings on the GameCube, it felt like a logical next step in the series. Super Paper Mario on the other hand was the wrong direction for the series.

since he re-initiated the volcano eruption scene, the game flags this as completing a chapter, since he was on the ice chapter the game assumes he just completed it and plays the appropriate peach intermission, since after this intermission mario teleports outside the ice castle and gives him the star spirit, this basically skips the whole chapter

there's ways of, in a sense, "resetting" the rng until you get what you want. how that's possible, i dont know. look up pannenkoeks video on rng

How RNG works in most cases in most games is you will get a different outcome for each frame that you would arrive to whatever you are trying to do. What this means for TASers is that you can test to see if you would get the outcome that you want, and if you don't, you can go back, waste 1 frame and try again until you get the outcome that you want.
