FYI: This is a Tool-Assisted Speedrun of Ratchet & Clank: Up Your Arsenal's New Game + No Quit Exploit category, the real-time run leaderboard and ruleset for which can be found here: www.speedrun.com/rac3#NG_No_QE This means that tools (i.e. savestates, frame advancing, input recording) were used to record a playthrough of a game with the aim of creating a theoretically perfect speedrun. This run is also segmented (as the PCSX2 emulator desyncs on loads), meaning that levels are split up by loads and TASed individually. However, this run is still a contiguous series of segments that are recorded like an actual run: each segment directly succeeds the previous one, and ammo counts, weapon selections etc. are preserved between segments. There are some visual and audio bugs that are a result of the emulator, but aside from those, all things seen in this video (as far as the community is aware) can be done on a real console. Portions of the game audio (Blackwater City) were edited in order to not be ear destroying, and you can check the outtakes in the description for an explanation. Long loads have also been removed and replaced with normal loads, as per the community's ruleset for Ratchet & Clank 3. It's also worth noting that the timer in the video is counting in frames at the lowest level, not milliseconds.

@Alejandro Marín Giménez By skipping into VR training on the first visit to Starship Phoenix, we can get the coordinates to Daxx, which skips needing to go to Aquatos or Tyrrhanosis. Since we skip the Warp Pad stuff on Qwark's Hideout, we also don't need to do Aridia.

the 1st 3 ratchet games are some of the best games to speedrun imo. the sheer amount of movement tech you have and the skill required to pull them off is just insane. knowlege of the game (like knowing where everything is, knowing where and when all the enemies spawn, etc) is one thing, but this game takes things to a whole new level with the movement tech

My mind is absolutely blown. As a young girl this game meant so much to me and the speedrunning community was small. I appreciate your contribution so so so so much and I thank you for such an entertaining and fulfilling video. This series is so close to my heart and to see it progress in the speedrunning community means the world to me. The amount of effort and hard work it takes to make a TAS speedrun is severely underappreciated by the masses. This game is tattooed on my little leg forever and I'm glad there's people like you keeping Ratchet and Clank in Legacy 🥰

That was insane. Even knowing some of the tricks of speedruns for R&C3 I'm still completely ??? at most of what happened here. It's very obvious to me from someone who sunk a ton of time into this game how much optimization must've gone into the weapon usage. I'm guessing the reason you don't use the fully upgraded RYNOIII is because of the delay on the flash kill.
