When will Mai ever learn that Andy is not romantically interested in her. He sees her more like a sister. Nothing more. I mean he grew up with her and was raised by her family. Keep in mind this is the main canon of Mai and the rest of the cast. KOF and FF are separate canons. I mean it’s pretty obvious Andy isn’t romantically interested in her and only has platonic feelings for her. Like a brother is to a sister. But Mai keeps persisting this impossible dream. Sure it was made to be a running gag with them. But the whole one-sided romance thing is getting old with her character and I feel her character would be far more appealing if she came to realization and stopped pursuing him and chose a different path. Andy would want her to do that anyway. He would want her to stop pursuing him and move on. Which is possibly the reason why he left the village and is no where to be found in the Garou story. Oda says Mai is looking for him, but she is shit out of luck he said. Meaning she will never find him. And it’s apparent Andy doesn’t want her to find him. He wants her to get him off her mind. He wants her to move on and live a life without him. Plus she should be mature enough to handle that realization at that point.

Mai and Andy's relationship is reciprocal in the FF continuity and they're dating by Fatal Fury 3, Andy's ending in that game is him realizing he's too injured to go on a date with Mai. It's also implied in MOTW that Hokutomaru is at least raised by Mai and Andy, if not their possible biological child. Andy is probably absent in MOTW because he's off doing cool shonen anime character shit like training in the mountains to hone his skills, not because he wants nothing to do with Mai

@@hasi706 False. The dialogue in Andy’s FF3 ending was proven inaccurate due to poor localization translation. The actual translated dialogue never mentions Mai or a date. You have to remember, the English releases of all SNK games during the 90’s were all poorly translated due to localization. There is a site you can go on that discusses thistopic called Brontoforum and they show the literal translation from the Japanese version of the game and it states; *”Gh...gah! I knew it... During that fight with Geese...I pushed myself too hard....”* No mention of Mai at all in the Japanese translation. In fact, all the dialogue Andy has mentioning Mai in all Japanese FF games, is clearly referencing him keeping his relationship with her strictly platonic. Because that’s what his character is all about in the Fatal Fury canon. Mai’s interest is one-sided and he is aware of it. But he only views her as a younger sister and nothing more. He only cares about his training and doesn’t value romance. That is his FF continuity personality. Even recent sites discussing his relationship Mai in KOF 15 mentions how his relationship with Mai is strictly platonic in the FF continuity and only reciprocative the KOF continuity. Also there is no mention or proof of Mai being in a relationship with Andy in Mark Of The Wolves. In fact Hokutomaru is confirmed to be just a member of the Shiranui clan but not blood related to either character. Andy left the clan for years and Mai and him never hooked up. Andy trained him alone and never once was Mai hinted at in any port of MOTW. Oda himself confirmed this years ago and even made a joke that Mai is still hopelessly looking for Andy and that he left because her constant obsession made it harder for him to obtain his goal. So you need to research your information better.
