Assalamu Alaikum Xaryab bhai, Guzishta podcast mein aapne kaha tha ke chuki maut-e-kubra (actual maut) ke waqt ROOH ko jism se juda kiya jata hai, isliye maut-e-sughra (yaani neend) ke waqt bhi ROOH ka jism se alag hona ZAROORI hai. Lekin ye bhi to mumkin hai ke neend ke waqt Allah ROOH ki jagah NAFS (Soul/Consciousness) hi ko jism se judaa karta ho, jaise ke Allah khud Surah 39 (AlZumar), Aayat 42 mein farmaate hain ke, need ke waqt NAFS parwaaz karti hai “ٱللَّهُ يَتَوَفَّى ٱلْأَنفُسَ حِينَ مَوْتِهَا”. Phir hum is NAFS ki parwaaz ko ROOH ki parwaaz kyun samjhein, ya ye kyun samjhein ke Rooh ke nikalne ka waaqiya Nafs ke saath ho raha hai isliye is aayat mein lafz Nafs ka istimaal hua hai. Jabke Allah Taala CLEAR hai ke parwaaz karne waali cheez NAFS hai. Yehi sawaal ek bahen ne aapki Grey Lounge waale podcast mein poochha tha, tab aap ne farmaaya ke ek aur aayat hai jahan aapki baat ka clarification milta hai. Ghalibann aap Surah 6 (Al-Anam), Aayat 60 ki baat kar rahe they, to is aayat mein bhi neend ke waqt parwaaz karne waali entity (cheez) rooh hai ya nafs, iska koi zikr NAHIN milta. Ilaawa-azeen, Surat 7, aayat 172 mein Allah Taala jab Aadam (as) ki pusht per haath pher ke aulaad-e-aadam ko nikaalte hain, to yahan bhi Allah Taala specifically ye NAHIN bataate ke Allah ne ROOHON ko pusht se nikaala tha ya NAFSON ko. Phir hum ye conclusion kyun karein ke wo roohein hi thein. I believe ke Rooh aur Nafs in donon ki sahi taareef ya definition FIX karna zaroori hai. Log kabhi Rooh ko Nafs kehte hain to kabhi Nafs ko Rooh aur ye confusion create karta hai. Rooh ko samjhne ka ek aasaan tareeqa ye hai ke Bible mein Rooh-Al Qudus ko Holy-Spirit kaha gaya hai. Yaani ROOH = SPIRIT naa ke Nafs. Yehi Rooh Al Qudus Hazrat Maryam ke paas Esa (as) ki Rooh lekar aate hain. Isiliye Hazrat Isa (as) ko Rooh Ullah kaha jata hai, na ke Nafs-ullah. Is se is baat ka pata chalta hai ke ROOH ke maane hain SPIRIT, na ke Nafs. Rooh (Spirit) chunki Allah ka Amr hai isliye wo paak hoti hai aur maut ke baad Usi ki taraf laut kar chali jaati hai. Jabke Nafs ya Soul ek aisa CONSCIOUSNESS ya Sha’oor hai, jo Surah 39 (AlZumar), Aayat 42 ke mutabiq neend (ya maut-e-sughra) ke waqt Allah Taala OFF kar dete hain (yaani Apne paas khench lete hain), aur yehi wo CONSCIOUNESS hai jisey asli-maut (maut e kubra) ke waqt bhi khench liya jaayega, jaise ke Surah 39 (AlZumar), Aayat 42 ke second-half mein bataaya gaya hai. Aur agar Surah Zumar ki is aayat ke lafz NAFS ko literally liya jaaye (jaisa ke uska haqq hai) to phir neend mein Khwaabon ke dauraan Rooh ka Aalam-e-Arwaah ki sair ya safar per nikalne ka pura concept tehleel ya khatam ho jaata hai. Ummeed hai aap is baat per roshni daal kar humein mustafiz karenge. Waise aap ka pura chart kaafi faidamand hai siway is khawaab mein rooh ke parwaaz ke zikr ke. Jazak Allah Khairan.

Very nicely explained but my question is that if one cannot become a surgeon by just read ing books or cannot for that matter learn many other mundane disciplines so how can one take-up and walk this path without a teacher aka murshid? Plus the job of wali is to continue the chain and bring upcoming aulia to the front. But doesn't happen at once just as a scholar cannot be a doctor before going through the training and testing. Yes in times of Huzur Pak there might have been other words used but the muriden actually follow their ways and tariqa to show their affection for the murshid and the history is replete with examples that mureed was the cause of murshid's popularity. Ishq is key word and that doesn't happen in air
