Hey Chris, I feel your pain. My wife of 27 yrs married, died March 6, 2024 after fighting Parkinson's Disease for 9 yrs. I was her caregiver for the past 4.5 yrs. There are no words that can take away the pain, but you must allow yourself to grieve. God & time will heal the hurt the hurt. I can say this because my first wife & 18 yr old son died in 1996 from a car accident. Only God got me thru that He will get me & you thru this as well. Grieve, but grieve with hope (1 Thes 4:13).

We are on the backend-praise God!-of a demonic (I believe) oppression through my oldest's (23) serious mental illness & the fallout from navigating through the presentation to diagnosis & treatment plan & all the emotional trauma that goes with it. I have been a Christian my whole life. I still remember details from my conversion with my dad at 3 years old. I’d gone to church the entirety of my life. I feel away in my teens because of situations with my family. It seemed fake…not real…I came back and found God again for myself in my late teens. I married a “Christian” woman and worked in a local church as a worship and youth pastor. Things went south with the marriage and I ended up getting divorced and came back home. My now ex-wife I felt had betrayed me, the church had turned its back on me when I needed them the most. I moved back home and eventually quit going to church and my walk hit a wall. Fast forward to January of this year and I got my final wake up call with a ER stay of 5 days. God answered my cries for help and when I heard this song it immediately became my theme. I can very much feel all of my roots being dug up right now! It’s not easy. Lots of wounds that need to heal. I know that our Lord will not make me go through more than I can handle. I love this song, it touches the aching parts of my heart and massages the wounds in my soul. It remind me to be grateful even when it doesn't feel like I've come very far. Every time I'm able to keep my mouth shut when I feel so disrespected, ever time I'm able to have just a little money between paycheck, every time I'm able to make a higher than minimum payment i remember that that is where I was. I may not be where I want to be yet, but I can feel those wicked roots being dug up, and I believe in the seeds I'm planting. God will restore me fully, and I will keep training to believe His Words above all else. "Look what you've done!" God you have done so much for me...
