It was particularly great because everything that came before that moment was kinda meh, and I was about ready to turn the show off. But then Romesh did his thing and I was hooked

If memory serves, both Greg and Alex (the mastermind behind all of this, he's freaking great) said once that this show succeeded thanks to Frank Skinner saying yes, which gave it a lot of credibility to other comedians, given Frank is a long staple of British comedy and TV in general for decades. So thanks to him, we've had like 14 seasons and it's still going strong. Also, "Tiebreakers are randomly chosen, so whilst Alex knows who wins each one, he doesn't know which tiebreaker will be chosen for that show" taken from the r/Taskmaster. They do film a ton of tasks, less than half make it to air. So they use the extras as possible tie breaker choices.

US citizen here...Taskmaster is my favorite show out of the UK, hands down, bar none. I've seen every episode, many times over. It's so popular that like 30 other countries have versions of it. Taskmaster New Zealand is a very close second...it's hilarious. There was a US version but Comedy Central really effed it up. We might be getting another incarnation shortly. Kongen Befaler (Taskmaster Norway) is really great too, but with subtitles. Anyhow...welcome to the Taskmaster rabbit hole! All episodes can be found online if you know where to look. Oh...series 2 has one of the most epic moments in all of television history...it's in the first episode if I remember correctly...Joe Wilkinson and the potato.

It should be known that the true genius behind this show is Alex Horne himself, Greg's assistant. He's the creator, and even the the composer of the awesome theme tune. He's also the real "taskmaster" as he's the creative mind behind a super majority of the tasks. Greg is the face of the show, and the one who scores it. But Alex is the genius.

The wife and I have seen every episode of taskmaster uk, nz, and Finland. We are absolutely obsessed, and I'm glad you are going to be reacting to these, as you're one of my top 3 reaction channels (in no order of course). All 5 will film all of the tasks including ones used for tie break.all of the 5 tie breaks would have been ready to play incase there was a tie break.which they won't know about until after the last task on stage. The contestants don't know what order the tasks will be shown in until Alex anounces it.which is why they wear the same outfits for all tasks so they can choose which task to show in each episode. They always start with a prize task and always end with a live task on stage that they don't know what to do till the task is read out. There is a live audience so it's good they do a live task so you don't sit there watching all pre filmed tasks.

Everybody did the “find Alex” task and then they just show the recordings of the ones who are tied in the event that happens in an episode.

I assume that they have all contestants do several tiebreakers ahead of time. You'll just see the two contestants who are actually tied when they show them, but the three others have also done them.

They film so many tasks and many are intended as tie breakers. Only Frank v Romesh was shown but all 5 will have filmed that task, just in case. In a later series, one contestant does so badly in a tie breaker task that the editors decided to make it a main task in the show.

One of my favourite shows! I watched since it's first broadcast on Dave. There are hilarious moments in every episode. In my personal opinion the first 3 series are the best, but that might have a lot to do with me re-watching them the most with them being the oldest.

The tie-breakers tasks are recorded by all the contestants because until they attend the theatre show none of them know who's done well in any of the tasks. In the theatre it's the first time they have seen their own performance and that of the others, as they film all the tasks separately on different days and often weeks apart

Taskmaster, nice Josh! 😄 Yes, the swearing shouldn't be censored, you'll be able to find versions with full cussing glory. And the stage task is always the finale, but the pre-recorded challenge at the end is only wheeled out in the case of a tie between two contestants.

The tie breaker is done by each contestants and only used if a tiebreaker is required, they film a few extra tasks than required for this purpose.

The tasks are pre recorded but that makes no difference as the points are decided by Greg while in the studio. Also the prize task and live task gets them extra points. All 4 of them would have done the find Alex task incase of draw they just didn't show the other two completing it as it wasn't needed

They got the contestants to do the tie breakers just in case. Everyone would have done the find Alex task. They only used Frank's and Romesh's in the show as a tie break

The level of quality this show keeps up is mind blowing. There's 14 seasons and there's only 1 that was "ok" the rest are great.

This show almost didn't get off the ground because nobody wanted to be on the show. Then Frank Skinner agreed to do it, and everybody else jumped on board. Series 2 of Taskmaster NZ is the best of all the Taskmasters. Taskmaster Finland is also amazing. Both NZ & Finland Taskmasters are better than the original British version, IMO. p.s. Tim Key's book of poetry, "The Incomplete Tim Key" is amazing. You have to read it.
