He learned a little something about centrifugal force that day lol. The thing doesn't spin that fast, but the sausages were way far out so move faster in order to complete a rotation in the same amount of time.

If it didn't extend outward the extra few feet with the poles and they instead were propped straight up, the sausages would move much slower since the distance they need to travel to complete a full rotation would be lower (less distance in the same time=less speed).

@@chelseawildflowerloftinwey1945 exactly Think of it this way. You put 2 dots on a globe. One on the Equator, one right next to the North Pole. Then you spin the globe and watch the dots. Even the the speed of the globe turning is consistent, the dot on the Equator will appear to be moving much faster, since it had a longer path to travel in each rotation

Centrifugal force is the apparent outward force experienced by spinning objects. Centrifugal force is responsible for the sausages on the ribbons moving away from the mixer as it turned, and not the differences in speed between the axis of rotation and the edge of the thing rotating. Your explanation for why the sausages were moving more quickly was correct though, despite the incorrect name for the phenomenon. I am not sure it actually has a name, if it does I am unaware of it.

Riiight, thought I was going mental/there was a glitch in the matrix. Having watched tonight's episode and then just having finished the pod I suddenly remembered to check the channel for any new uploads but was then confused as to why there wasn't a red 'played' banner under this vid and why it had only been released a day ago when I thought it was a few days ago when I'd seen it. I checked back in my history and it's still there in my list from Monday and is still playable but now unlisted (rather than public). The OG was 6:02 so they've obviously trimmed out whatever tech fault they'd found. They've made a new thumbnail for it too btw.

Off-topic: I'm just curious, they uploaded the first series of Taskmaster Norway... will they be uploading Taskmaster NZ? I can't find full episodes of season 1 other than pirating, and I'd rather not. But I've heard Taskmaster NZ may actually be better than the original.

They've done all the full episodes I think they can as 1-9 were all aired on UKTV play but 10 onwards has always been on Channel 4, so I don't think channel 4 will like them putting their episodes on youtube.
