Was about to point that out myself. @andreaskarlsson5251 Жыл бұрын
A perimeter is the circumference of a square. Circumference has multiple definitions, one is the more specific one in maths specifically refering to a curved figure. The other one is a more broad definition thats simply "the distance around something". So they'd lose that argument. :P

Rhods math was wrong regardless. He mesured the caravan in inches and the bean in centimeters, and then multiplied. He should've mesured both the caravan and bean in centimeters and divided instead. Also, he said 2.5cm for 1 bean? That's way off.
@MinekEzQM Жыл бұрын
6:21 - 1cm per bean by Rhod, and Alex measure was 1.3cm.
@Confidence_isFashion Жыл бұрын
No, he converted inches to centimetres. 1 inch equals roughly 2,54 centimetres. Only after that conversion came the bean counting
@dylanvitt2449 Жыл бұрын
^ good catch@@Confidence_isFashion . 510 in * 2.5 cm/in * 1cm/bean = 1275 beans. Using 1.3 cm/bean, you get 980 baked beans. So Rhod was 295 baked beans off, while the 700 beans guess was only 280 off. Assuming 510 inches is the correct perimeter, and 1.3 cm/ beans correct conversion. Would love to see how Alex and the crew determine the "correct" answer for some of these tasks, seems difficult.

Since we know other people have done these tasks while thinking outside of the box, I would have used a tape measure to measure the circumference of the caravan while holding the baked beans in such a way so that my fingers were inside the can. That way I would have "measured the circumference of the caravan in baked beans." That is, I am in baked beans as I am measuring the caravan. Or I could have dumped the entire can over myself, so that I was literally "in baked beans." I don't think anyone could argue with that.
@gopnikolai7483 Жыл бұрын
Google the circumference/perimeter of *A* caravan (any caravan, not just this one), and give that as your answer. The number will be the same whether the caravan you chose is in beans or completely bean-free. Almost every task can be picked apart for the wording and destroyed.
