nice! saw some good +4lbs brows while fishing a river this weekend - need to head back and fish to them while they are active. Are you based in the northern hemisphere?

Were you fishing with the rod that you lost and then found on a previous trip? That 3.5 pounder was stunning - thanks for sharing. Rob ‘Lord Gadget’ Louis

Hey Rob, yep, it's the same rod! Pretty surprised i didn't spook the 3.5lb after putting several flies past it.

Ha. Awesome. Been waiting to hear from you. That spot looks great. Off to a top start. But, now I'm going to have to get a Simms rubber band! 🙂

hah good point, the buggers would probably price it at $40 and claim it's got super rubber band technology :P the funny thing is they would probably sell out!

@@p3p_flyfishing As long as they make a goretex one. I'd hate for it to get wet. Looking forward to the rest of your trip. Got me thinking of the South, now. 🙂 Be keen to hear your impressions of the trip at the end. PP

@@mrpoopypants9586 tbh the fishing was tougher than i thought. Was hoping to find monsters however the size and quality of fish i saw were a lot less than two years ago. Heaps of smaller fish and lots of dead 3-4lb fish - saw a dead fish in just about every lake. A lot of fisherman about as well. Just fished Jindy lake and one of the rivers in the park on the weekend and was seeing 2 to 5 lb fish and not another fisherman in sight. We have it pretty good right here in southern NSW. Saying that the tassie highland lakes are stunning and it's a beautiful part of the country - def worth a visit, good fishing or not.

@@p3p_flyfishing Thanks for the info. Yeah, it sounds like the Tassie seasons are as changeable as up here. We were in the Snowies last week and the Blueys this week. Such good fishing about, just hope the water keeps coming. We had the boat on Eucumbene a while back and one day we got 8 fish over 60cm. The Snowy lakes are in rude good health. The rivers were getting baked last week but we had a bloody hilarious night on a river catching and dropping , bushing and tripping over fish in the dark. All on hoppers. Lost more than we landed. We're pretty lucky to have it, eh? PP
