Whew, long timer watcher, first time commenter. You guys just blow me away. Christian, your videography story telling is phenomenal. Gorgeous slow pans, reveals, use of sunlight as a character, and not just relying on the golden hour of sunset for these lovely scenes. Even the gentle foaming of a wave ekeing out the last of its last energy tendrilling across a pure white sand beach is just amazing. ...and just looking at those oysters...divine. Committed oyster girl here unlike my poor husband who is on the same page with Katie. Both you and Katie are so generous in capturing and sharing your families travels with us. It is always nice to see the little frustrations on the road and not just good news reeling your travel. I could not help but break into a little comrade smile over taking down wet laundry to travel to another destination to only hang the laundry up again. Yep, just one of the little quirks of travel life and I am one of the fully paid up memebers of that little club! I cannot wait for next the next installment. Safe travels.

Hey Margo - Man! That sure is something. Thanks so much for taking the time to let us know all that. You have no idea how much it means. We put a heap of effort into these things, each one is about 5 days of post production, and largely for our own watching pleasure (probably when we're at home again! Hahah), but when somebody else takes so much away from it as well - it really is a special feeling. Katie and I both read that last night and felt so pleased! Much needed after a crappy few days dealing with border closures, moving into quarantine in WA and all stress that went with it. You'll be pleased to know that I am planning to get some more editing done while we are here, so hopefully it won't be too long before the next one. Trying to play catch up hahah. Thanks so much again. Hope you're safe and sound wherever you may be. :)

@@SaltEarthandSun I, and I am sure so many other viewers totally understand that it takes time to produce episodes of such high caliber. I know that I get the major "squees" when my phone goes off letting me know that you and Katie have dropped another episode. I have just fallen in love with Tassie all over again with watching your foodie and bevvie adventures through the Apple Isle. (and as Veuve drinker, thanks for the thumbs up recommendations for Jansz range of sparklers!!!!) I hope things are settling down for you both and the girls and even in a current lockdown, WA is still a pretty awesome place to be. ...and no pressure...but this fangirl is hanging out for the next ep!!! LOL. She has let her guard down and commented...there is no holding back now!!! :D

@@margojohn604 hahah that’s awesome! Too kind. I must say, we didn’t quite realise how good we had it in Tassie until we started travelling elsewhere. There was just so much to see and do packed into such a tiny space. And the food and drink was delicious. Can’t wait until they drop the Jansz Late disgorged again in 2021. I think we drank them dry of the 2012. 😂 we can’t get it anywhere. Found another few noteworthy ones in the Barossa too.... 😉 Isolation in the van is interesting. Day 2. Just going through the motions. Made some progress on the next episode today. 👍 Thanks again.

We have gotten a bit better since that video was filmed. We now do a bit in the car on drive days before any ipad time and have a couple of different apps that we now use that the kids actually love doing. Glad you enjoyed the video! 👍 Tassie is so epic. We'd love to get back there.

Is that a 35mm 1.8 your running for the most part for the v-Log bits ?
@SaltEarthandSun3 жыл бұрын
Yeah, sigma 18-35. It’s certainly not perfect, but it’s a balancing act. I get it to work well enough for me to not be able to justify the cost, weight and awful fly by wire focus mechanism of the rf 24-70 2.8L.
