Last November I hiked to the Pool of Memories from the ferry. 2 beautiful days, 3 nights and snow onthe last day as I packed up, and I didn't see another person for 44 hours.

Great job, Chris. Those views were something else! And if you get weather like that in Tassie, buy a lottery ticket! I've fished in every month of the season over there (August-May in different years) and be snowed on at least once in every month! Looking forward to seeing the next of the adventures...

Thanks very much, Mike! Really is stunning scenery through that area. Still counting my lucky stars for the weather we got. Just amazingly good fortune, knowing how Tassie weather normally behaves!

Thanks heaps Jake! It really did work out perfectly with the weather and it even continued for pretty much the rest of the whole Tassie trip. Couldn't believe it! Really appreciate the feedback too. Has been a while since I've done a longer-style trip video format so I'm to hear glad it was compelling to watch all the way through. 😁

Great video Chris. Thanks for the work you put into the channel. Good to see you have had a stint enjoying Tassie in sunshine after the last time. I finished the Overland Track last Wednesday and was also blessed with stunning weather. I had hoped to do Pine Valley but the ranger at Cradle strongly advised coming back to make it a dedicated trip like you’ve just done. You’re right in that the view from Ossa was similar to the Acropolis. Endless vistas and 360 degree views of incredible wilderness and mountains. I look forward to seeing what other adventures you had on this trip.

Thanks so much, Mandy! Glad to hear you enjoyed watching it. The weather was the polar opposite to what I got on the Overland Track. So glad to hear you completed the OT and that you also caught the beautiful weather for it. Would be absolutely glorious hiking it in clear weather. Great that you were able to summit Ossa too! Hopefully this video has inspired you to put a return trip on your list to head into Pine Valley. 🙂

Nice video mate 👍🍺 You chested but....lol as a local born we shit stir the tourists by saying you didn't walk the last 17kms out lol....I just got back from a 45km trip plan was to go to the lybrinth but we ended up going from Cynthia bay up to narcissus then next day walked up to mount gould and the plateau...was bloody amazing and the weather was mint....seen 4 big tigers on the walk back was bloody hectic....stay tuned I'll upload soon

Thanks mate. Yeah, the ferry is definitely the easy option out of there but we were running a tight schedule to get down the road to start Frenchmans Cap the next morning so had to give the lake hike a miss. Sounds like you had a great hike. Will look out for your video of the trip.

@@TasHikingAdventures Frenchman's Cap was one of the best and most demanding hikes I've ever done. I hear about the bridge being out over there so good to hear it has been repaired again. All the best for your hike next month. Fingers crossed for perfect weather like we had for it.

Another awesome video Chris! Gorgeous views of the landscape and forested areas and the mountain gods must've been on your side during your trip with such glorious weather! I noticed your sun gloves from Outdoor Research and what's your take on those? I plan to do the 3 capes walk this Christmas and I'm hoping for perfect weather.
@FreedomOnFoot3 жыл бұрын
Thanks Nurisha! Just got incredibly lucky with the weather and couldn't believe the run of good days lasted so long. Really loving the sun gloves. I hardly notice I've got them on when hiking as they're really breathable and protect my hands really well from the sun while holding my trekking poles all day. Highly recommend! Great to hear you're heading down to do the Three Capes walk. I haven't done that one but have heard great things about it. Did you end up getting to do the Overland Track?
@nurishakeri99043 жыл бұрын
@@FreedomOnFoot Yes, I managed to complete the Overland Track in January last year just before the country went into lockdown. It was a surreal experience and it wasn't easy, a lot of hard work and perseverance but I'm glad I did it! My arms and fingers were sunburnt for a whole month after the hike so that's why I'm going to get some sun gloves for protection. Thanks for the recommendations Chris!
@FreedomOnFoot3 жыл бұрын
@@nurishakeri9904 great to hear you completed the Overland Track. Congratulations! It's no easy feat so you can be proud of having done it. Sorry to hear about your sunburn, hence the question about the sun gloves! Definitely a good investment to make.

Beautiful production. Unfortunately that helicopter was for a local farmer who died on Mt Geryon. Tasmania is beautiful with the best bushwalking in Australia but also has its tragedies.
@FreedomOnFoot3 жыл бұрын
Thanks mate, much appreciated. Yes, we heard about the incident on Mt Geryon when we were on the ferry on the way back. Very sad to hear someone lost their life that day while adventuring.
