Sometimes they are answered in the most flippant way even though the question raised is directly related to difficulties experienced by members of the public. How do they expect us to view them when they respond as if all that matters to them is being able to verbally outdo the party whose MP is asking the question? I once mentioned this to my MP, along with the fact that I viewed the jeering and shouting that goes back and forth across the floor as akin to a Punch & Judy show. I have to say that he was one of the better MP's - a genuinely decent man who was highly visible to his constituents and worked hard for them, but I was disappointed when he replied that the jeering etc came about due to "passion".

I think it may demoralise the Labour backbenchers and give them a touch of the jitters, especially the new ones who have given up decent careers to become MP's and who may only have sqeaked in by a few hundred votes. They probably weren't daft enough to think they'd have five years of fair weather but I doubt they thought they'd be facing one storm after another right from the start. I would imagine that their inboxes have been filling up with emails from angry/upset/disappointed constituents, and the full effects of the budget and the withdrawal of the WFA haven't even taken effect yet. Then we have the Southport trial, plus the local elections next May which I suspect may see Labour lose councillors and councils. It's not likely to be one single thing that causes MP's to turn on their leader - it will be a build-up of issues, and the petition is one of them.

I'll keep saying it, until we stop net zero self harming, the UK economy will get worse. You can't keep having an economy based on services, meanwhile letting manufacturing and infostructure rot away over decades, without consequences. Then throw into the mix immigration and wokeness, where you now have a high cost of living crisis, low wage economy and DEI diversity, equality and inclusion employment policies, where you no longer employ the best people for the Job. You now have what we all see, nobody in power positions fit for the job. Especially in parliament. We need immigration, net zero and wokeness to stop, get drilling/fracking for gas and build mini nuclear reactors en masse from profits. Cheap energy means a booming or growing economy. Get manufacturing back up and running. Build things the world needs. Make a new car, be protectionists over steel and get that industry back up and running again. Our military needs things built, so build it all in Britain and get people secure jobs, that pay a fair days wage. Which if energy is cheap, it means so is food. Simple as. Then have a huge education investment drive in lower/working class areas. S.T.E.M (Science, technology, engineering and mathematics) should be the main focus in all schools. Promoting to teenagers to have free university to become Dr's, nurses, surgeons, Dentist etc etc. After schools activities in trades like bricklaying, plumbing, carpentry etc etc. Starmer and co are just an even more incompetent Tory party, just like the Tories were an even more incompetent blairite party. My advice from local elections and beyond, vote Reformuk. They may not be perfect, but the alternative is far worse.

I too agree university fees should be refunded to those successfully becoming doctors, dentists, basically professions we are desperately short of. It's just simple financial investment. Never been sure why a nurse needs a degree though. They always just trained alongside us electricians and plumbers in college.

I wish someone would drill down with a Labour MP, any MP, as to how Electric Vehicle sales will increase, to cover the loss of Petrol/Diesel cars by 2030. Nobody wants to buy them for reasons which are many and varied. For example, in addition to high purchase prices and through the floor residuals, 45% of car owning households cannot charge at home, leading to eye watering charging costs. Range anxiety is almost lost in the list of the negatives of owning an EV. Are we now in a Labour/Stasi era, compelling people to purchase what the Government wants us to purchase?

Starmer keeps playing the blame game. Regarding paying strikers his reasoning was that Tories had already made those plans he just carried them out. There Mr. Starmer is the difference. They did not implement what they had perhaps guessed would be what was finally settled. As a Barrister surely he should have been aware that you never just sign a document without reading it fully and only then if you agree. Several times he has claimed that paperwork left by the Tories ‘showing their plans’ had been found and it was then put into practice. Here is an idea why doesn’t someone sneak a pile of papers into Downing Street saying Labour give up and want an election, put a signature box at the bottom and job done he will sign it.
