Dreevay with we at Ma & Pa's house on this throwback Thursday. Batman met up with us to "make ah cook" by Ma & Pa. For new viewers, Ma & Pa are my grandparents-in-law, but I treat them like my own & vice-versa. Filmed January 10th, 2018.

Thanks for the first 2 mins from St Mary's to the highway (pretty much my area), for Croisee junction, for seeing the pots at the side of the highway. I'll be visiting soon, can't wait! Ma & Pa are so cool. It's always fun liming with the older ppl. They're so cute and it's fun. You learn alot! The fried chicken and the sauce looked so good. But about that ginseng, Malta and peardrax though, it's a must in every house during the holidays.

Your family remind me of mine, I remember when my mother and father use to sit outside in the backyard like your Ma and Pa and when he asked if you want a drink of wine, and when they were telling you guys it have shandy upstairs bittersweet memories it brings back. Amazing video! Makes me happy to see families so close. I am always taking in all that I can from my family. This was a great video Reshmi. By the way that tattoo that Ma has on her hand used to be a custom in Guyana and Trinidad. In Guyana they call it a "gudnah". Basically women would be given a tattoo by her in laws almost as a proof of marriage or to show she was married to that guy. When my great grandmother's mother in law came so that tattoo could be given she locked the door on them 😂😂 and she refused to get it. And she never did. It's amazing to see the trades that our elders were involved with back in the days. My great grandfather on my mom's side of the family used to mine cattle. This video made me wish I had my great grandparents again. What I would do to get them on camera.

Like you, I try to absorb as much as I can from the older heads in the family and I still carry the knowledge and traditions that were passed on from my deceased grandparents and great-grandparents. Wow, thank you for letting me know the name. It's amazing that your great-grandma stood her ground and fought for her rights so long ago. She would've loved to be alive in these times. My great-grandparents had rice, cane, tobacco fields and they reared cattle and goat. I would love to have them here today but all I can hold on to are memories of the first few years of my life, when I got to see them alive.
