@SlurpyDave254 tried to poison me as well with one of these old beers. He's now serving a life sentence at Isle of Man Post Office, Postal Headquarters, Spring Valley Industrial Estate, Douglas, Isle of Man

Always fun to try old finds! A friend found a 14 year old mead he had made in the back of his fridge...it was decent! Good thing for Dave you survived😁 and for all of us that enjoy your videos 🤣 cheers to you & Mrs. B! 🍻

@DeepBlu206 thank you and always worth a try, I think if you smell it and look at it and it seems fine then it should be ok to try 😀 and cheers from me and Mrs B 🍻🍺

Could have been anything in there Rob 😂 amazing how the malt lasts and develops in the bottle 🍻

@thehoppytraveller I know but I was thinking if this has an off flavour or aroma I ain't gonna try, I had vinegar in my head but no it wasn't bad, malt sweetness and it wasn't unpleasant. Cheers 🍺 🍺

About a year ago on abeeradaywithtk channel we tried a 28 year old can of Flowers Original. It was surprisingly not as bad as we had expected it to be and it did not make us sick. It is a little scarry trying a beer that old. Nice to see there is still some head on the beer. Slurpy Dave is great for sending that to you. Great video!

Treacle was the word i was expecting...mrs B picking out banana was ace.👍It is pot luck with these very old bottles..hope Thomas Hardy is still in tack. Thanks for the channel plug mate...hope u n mrs B survived next day, cheers Rob😊👍

@SlurpyDave254 cheers all well the next day, I reckon if it don't smell off and the taste is fine then the beer has only degraded in hops overtime, if it's got too much oxygen ingress then maybe an issue but it 100% hissed on the opening and that gave me a bit of confidence the beer would be drinkable, cheers 🍻 🍻🍺

Even though you say it's good still, I'd probably have a hard time swallowing it down just knowing it's age. Cheers MR.B
@MrBsHomebrewsandBeerReviews3 ай бұрын
@bumpy-isms I say it's good but only that it didn't have any off aroma or flavour, you could taste and see it was aged but pleasantly surprised that it held on to malt sweetness and wasn't undrinkable but I get it I had vinegar in my mind when pouring, cheers 🍻🍺👍

It appears that you did get lucky with this beer. Be no way of aging a modern day beer for that long and expect it to be drinkable. Too bad there was no 50 year old beer for you to try.
@MrBsHomebrewsandBeerReviews3 ай бұрын
@Shark_brewing_adventures true a beer from 74 👍 I kind of knew once I hear the hiss on the opening it was going to be on the better side of the spectrum 🍺🍻
