This might be an esoteric question: On October 12, 2019 you visited Irene Tan co-owner of Brooklyn North East Wine and Spirits. I believe the title was: 8 things whisk(e)y drinkers dislike about liquor stores. Okay, more set up before the actually question...I live in a small town in Indiana which has a chain of liquor stores called SaveOn Liquors. I am an avid scotch drinker so I visits these stores frequently. Now to the question...Recently, I have noticed most of the stores have tip jars on the counter: How do you feel about that? My scotch is behind the counter....so very little inter personal connection there,. Just curious.

I don't know nothing but I bought every cask strength official bottle of single malt I came across except Highland Park. As I was on that journey for a while I remembered the value of properly aged Scotch. That leads us to cask strength independent bottles. Corryvrecken is pretty hardcore Thank God Balcones likes 53%+. So let me get this straight...not all bourbon is over 60% ABV???? oh yeah..the Turkey is 50.5%

I poured my dad a dram of Ardbeg 10 after he said he was getting into scotch, I said this is a unique region of whiskey that you may or may not like. It's very very bold. He took a sniff and said "It smells like a dirty ashtray, or a bbq pit that's never been cleaned." He took a sip with little reaction and said "It tastes like I licked that dirty ashtray. How about Cali Riptide Rye. I and my wife, both find it very aggressive but smooth. The strong flavor overpowers the ethanol. I wouldn't describe Port Charlotte as "Hardcore". I guess I don't understand what that means. I thought it was very smooth and flavorful. However, I prefer Uigedal (yeah, I know that is spelled wrong) at the same price point, and I actually prefer the Classic Laddie (with a couple of drops of water to waken it up) as a better buy.
