Ninja Gaiden involves an ultra superior ninja, capable of defying the laws of physics by climbing through walls, making dogs explode with his sword, and all while beating bad guys in record time.
After a whole decade, this collaborative run improves the previous movie (tasvideos.org/...) by 75 frames.

he hits Down + attack in the air once every frame, so 60 a second. Its called a slash cancel... I can only mange 4 to 5 but a machine can do has much as the game will allow!

In a TAS-where input is done frame-by-frame-the end result wouldn't be significantly different since the same effect achieved with L+R/U+D+L would be replaced alternating A and B presses every frame with L or R. So, all that would really change is that Ninpo couldn't be preserved in some parts where Ryu has the Spin Slash.

Actually a bit over 2 seconds according to the time listed on both submissions, not sure where the "75 frames" fits into the times though. Still I agree crazy optimization on an already great movie. This one has some very creative and fun techniques too

Let me explain , Ryu throw a star in previous room because that was optimal place to control the star to reach the end of the next room , now ryu needs to throw the firewheel at the end of the room to hit the boss by 2 hp which requires him to face the left side which saves time because he didnt have to look back to lose 2 frame instead of using 1 frame to throw a star , he saves even more by hitting a boss 2 hp earlier with firewheel which saves another 4 frame

L+R/U+D are not cheating. They are not possible to do on a controller but they are valid inputs. And no clip... Just stop bro.

By valid I meant that if you could press left and right at the same time the game would allow it. Usually it is banned to press L+R at the same time in speedruns but you can do that on tas because it doesn't try to compete with normal runs.

@Jonny Croxville There is not a single legit TAS in existence that "turns off clipping", because that would be using cheats, and TAS runs use no cheats. When they clip through a wall, it means they are using a glitch which is allowed by the game mechanics.

I have been thinking about doing a TAS of this too, and in fact the other two for my channel too either way this game series is cruel as hell.
