It's the X-Men, and they're out to stop Magneto and whomever else is bad.
This game stars five of the X-men: Cyclops, Wolverine, Gambit, Beast, and Psylocke. (Professor X is probably coaching them from a safe place, like he always does.) Each member has their own level to complete, but anyone can be chosen to play the remaining levels. The author primarily uses Beast for his power, though Psylocke is chosen in one stage. This is an improvement of nearly 50 seconds over the last version of this movie by Nibelung ( tasvideos.org/... ).

God, I had this game as a kid and it's just awesome! Killer friggin soundtrack... Capcom was really killing it in the soundtrack and sound design department back in the day.

Hell yes! So many memories. I used to play this game on weekends, at my sister's house with my nephews (who are old enough to be my cousins btw), all the time. We had a blast! I sucked at it but it was still fun, nonetheless. 😄💯

It is indeed a hard game. This is a TAS (Tool Assisted Superplay/Speedrun) which is a frame perfect playthrough of the game. It takes a lot of time to be done though since it requires a lot of save and load states.

Growing up my friend had this on his snes and I had X-men 2 on Genesis. We often talked about how if X-men 2's gameplay had been matched with Mutant Apocalypse's graphics, the perfect X-men game would be the result, haha.

If you use beast you can just constantly butt-bounce on Magnetos head until he dies. I was honestly surprised the TAS didn’t use that tactic (but the TAS is faster).

i loved psylocke so much in this and in Gems off war. i let the Game Run for Hours ( Gems Off war) whit the Awesome Iron man Stage and cranked the Volume up so that even my Neighbours heared the Sound xd.

Usually, if an antagonist is featured from the start of a story, that means they are not the main antagonist, and it will be someone else who is revealed as the true main antagonist. Check the password screen on 10:26; the picture of a "certain mutant" is in there.
