God, I had this game as a kid and it's just awesome! Killer friggin soundtrack... Capcom was really killing it in the soundtrack and sound design department back in the day.

Hell yes! So many memories. I used to play this game on weekends, at my sister's house with my nephews (who are old enough to be my cousins btw), all the time. We had a blast! I sucked at it but it was still fun, nonetheless. 😄💯

It is indeed a hard game. This is a TAS (Tool Assisted Superplay/Speedrun) which is a frame perfect playthrough of the game. It takes a lot of time to be done though since it requires a lot of save and load states.

Growing up my friend had this on his snes and I had X-men 2 on Genesis. We often talked about how if X-men 2's gameplay had been matched with Mutant Apocalypse's graphics, the perfect X-men game would be the result, haha.

If you use beast you can just constantly butt-bounce on Magnetos head until he dies. I was honestly surprised the TAS didn’t use that tactic (but the TAS is faster).

Usually, if an antagonist is featured from the start of a story, that means they are not the main antagonist, and it will be someone else who is revealed as the true main antagonist. Check the password screen on 10:26; the picture of a "certain mutant" is in there.
