Tata Tiago has been one of our long termers and we have done a delayed video on it. This hatchback impressed us from its launch time. It didn't just offer more space but even features too. Tata Tiago even got good amount of features and more importantly quality too. The biggest question on this hatchback was its reliability.
We had the Tiago with us for a year and we used it thoroughly. Got a set of people from our team to drive it. They have all been impressed in the manner it has performed. This is what changes how and what people are looking for in this hatchback. We are in love with Tiago. But then is it reliable?

Hope you have liked the Tata Tiago long term review video? One correction in our video, optional pack doesn't get ABS in it, only on XZ it is available. The mileage of the petrol engine is about 14km/l in the city and about 17-18km/l on the highway for the manual. The Tiago AMT returns about 12-13km/l in city and about 17km/l on the highway. While the Tiago diesel has a mileage of 16-18km/l in city and close to 20-24km/l on the highway, depending your driving. Happy driving guys!!

Great video. I have xz petrol recently driven 453 km and got 24.7 km/l mileage in Eco mode with ac below speed of 100 km/h. completed 6000 km and got mileage of 19+ overall (city and highway). Great car....

Plz always mention service cost or maintenance cost of the vehicle, which is very deciding factor to buy vehicle, many of us may not bothered about it but if you are buying a budget segment vehicle, it matters a lot which we realise later. TATA service cost is much higher than the Maruti-Suzuki and Hyundai. For eg. Tiago NRG cost is 5.5 lac ex-showroom (Petrol) but service cost is around 50000/- for 4 years compare to around 20000/- for 5 years other. Tiago’s service cost is also on higher side, correct me if I am wrong. Please mention service cost in all reviews.👍

Eco mode reduces torque and hence reduces fuel consumption. It works best when torque required is least I.e. when cruising on highway. No point expecting mileage in city traffic in eco mode.

Do one thing brother, so many people are still running away from tata motors bcz of their reliability and after sales service issues. but now tata has changed n not the one it was before. You also pls mention that tiago is updated now in 2017 so no engine noise n gear knob vibrations because of these two main problems; people criticize about this fantastic car. I still can bet if tiago was launched by maruti or hyundai then its waiting period wud hav been 4 months without any doubt. Image of tata prevents tiago to rule on the indian road. its tragedy of this car. but i hope people will start to think positive about tata motors after tiago tigor hexa n upcoming nexon.

Hi friends, my views on tata tiago, i bought tiago(petrol) a month before. I am facing serious problems like abnormal gear vibration, power lag during driving car(specially in 2nd and 3rd gear), dashboard vibration noise(during poteholes), poor average(i.e.11.2kmpl), loud & disturbing engine noise inside cabin. With these ample problems i am totally disturbed & depressed. So my humble request to all of you. Think wisely before buying any Tata Motors car. Please

I have xz model. First two year no problem. I enjoyed first two years. Then I faced certain issues. These issues are not resolved by tata motors service station. 1.battery damaged. Replaced. 2. Noise when ac on. When Motor changed sound arrested but after that sound came from other sources. 3. Service station limited. Thought I should post comments for improvement

Shubham Shrivastav Dzire will definitely give you better performance, especially the petrol variant. Dzire vxi and tigor xz(o) fit well around your budget. If performance is not among your top priorities tigor offers more features, boot space and the ride quality is more sorted. Dzire is also a good option which can give you better driving experience on the highway

Do some calculations and see if you will be able to recover the extra cost you'll initially pay for diesel variant of any car. In cars like tiago and every Maruti Suzuki car the performance and refinement is better if petrol variant whereas polo, i20, figo have more powerful diesel engines and the refinement is quite okay compared to the petrols so these cars can be better had with diesel. Many say that if your usage is less than 60-70km a day petrol makes more sense

I have tata Tiago XZ variant purchased on march 2019. Ran 5000km+ but still its mileage is very low about 15km/l. My dealer said mileage will be 20+ after 4000km, but its not improving, other than that i dont have any problem with my car.

I am using it for around an year now (to be specific 11 months & 15 days) and driven around 10K kilometers. I have driven various cars, but when it comes to my owned cars, this is my first car. ** What I love about this car is: 1. First and most important is Build Quality & Safty 2. Steering response & Ride quality 3. Seating comfort on both front and rear seats 4. Suspension quality ** What I hate about this car? Well the list is bigger but I know that there might be some solutions to some of them. But I am still not able to find them. Your help to find solutions will be much appreciated. 1. Most important - Mileage issue: As I said, I have driven various cars, comparing the mileage of this car with others, I am suffering a lot. The same roads, same petrol and same traffic conditions in my city Pune as well as highways. In city Areas, I have got almost 15-17 KMPL mileage with other cars but Tiago is giving me only 12-14 KMPL Mileage (maybe because of it's heavy weight). Talking about highways, where other cars were giving me 18-21 KMPL Mileage, my Tiago is giving me maximum 16-17 KMPL Mileage. Need an advice on this mileage issue. I am yet to do 3rd service when the engine oil will be changed. 2. Mileage information on display: The display shows a mileage of 17 or 18 KMPL. But in reality, the mileage is about 13 or 14. So, it's a difference of around 4 KMPL as compared to on screen display vs real mileage. 3. NVH Level: NVH level of Tiago are really high even in Petrol model. 4. Low capacity head lamps: The pathetic light causes lot of issues in night driving specially on highways. 5. Poor breaking system. 6. Poor defogging system and bad viper quality. 7. Most disappointed thing is "Very bad after Sales Service" by Tata dealers. They just keep saying: Sir Tata ki Gaadime itna hi mileage milega. Sir itna aawaj (NVH) to har gaadime aata hi hai. Sir ye problem solve naahi hogs, sir wo nahi hoga...

I am planning to buy Tiago XE Diesel, just want to know how are the brakes, maintenance costs and long term reliablity. i am planning to keep the car for 10 years. I know Tata car's are poor in resale value. What is your opinion.? I have one Ciaz at home which has very poor brakes.

E Shock Tiago's brakes are spot on. I think if you buy the car u may get in to accident because of it's awesome brakes !!!

Bhai wo radio ka channel tum auto scan se change kar rahe the. Wo sirf ek bar karna padta hai. Ekbar scan ho jaye to fir channel set ho jaate hai aur uske baad wo 1,2,3,4,5 button se direct laga sakte hai. Aur wo channel direct steering mounted controls se bhi change hote hai ek bar set ho jaane ke baad.
