Artist Billie Zangewa welcomes us at her home in Johannesburg, South Africa. As we tour the city, we learn about what inspires and influences her work. From the love for her son, to her experience of silk as a 'transformative material' - her focus is largely rooted in the home and plays into what she describes as ‘daily feminism.’

Wonderful; the focus on unpaid labor that keeps society moving, the materiality, the fabric, the way she gives form to motherhood, her black feminism, and the work.. the work is incredible, the colors, the compositions, the stories, everything. What a bright light.

Wow..this documentary is so expository. The self therapy really got to me as I am going through a phase in my life where self therapy is a doing word for me.So self therapy is my verb.

The way she talks about her son reminds me of how invaluable a mother’s love is. So beautiful. Also the shot of the books? I’m about to extend my reading list a bit!

I was lucky enough to be studying art with Billie in the nineties. Seeing this I realise again what a bunch of picks the professors were, and how centered the young woman to rise in spite of them.
