Viable-ish, but not by much! LED lights are much cheaper to maintain and fix than traditional neon signs, and the replicas have gotten good enough so that most people won't even notice. LEDs also use less power and are easier to dispose when they break (no mercury vapour!) so they're a fair whack better for the environment. Appreciate the classic ones while you can I guess :/
